Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi’s upcoming film ‘Jolly LLB 3’ seems to be stuck in legal digestion before its release. In fact, in connection with a petition filed against this film, the Pune Civil Court has summoned Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi. ‘Jolly LLB 3’ is scheduled to release on 19 September.

Accused of insulting lawyers and judges in teaser
Advocate Vajd Khan (Bidkar) and Ganesh Mhaskhe have filed a petition alleging that the teaser of the film showed lawyers and judges in a derogatory manner. He claimed that actors and filmmakers under the guise of creativity freedom have made fun of the legal profession using abusive humor. Taking cognizance of the case, Civil Judge of 12th Junior Division JG Pawar has issued summons to the actors and the film’s makers and directed to appear in the court on August 28. The petitioners have also demanded a ban on the release of the film.

What did the petitioner lawyers say?
The controversy began when Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi were shown promoting the film bands in the teaser, which the petitioners argued that it hurts the dignity of the profession. According to the report of India Today, advocate Vajd Khan said, “All lawyers in this film call Judges ‘Mamu’. This is an insult to the judiciary.” One of the petitioner lawyers further said, “In addition, the lawyers are shown arguing in the court as if there is a family quarrel. Even though it is satical, it is derogatory for the entire legal community.”

When will ‘Jolly LLB 3’ be released?
Last week, the makers released the teaser of Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi starrer upcoming film “Jolly LLB 3”. The film also stars Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, written and directed by Star Studio 18, and directed by Subhash Kapoor, and produced by Alok Jain and Ajit Andare, besides Saurabh Shukla, Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao and Gajraj Rao. The film will be released on the big screen on September 19.
