A great news has come to light for the students dreaming of admission in top colleges of engineering. Joint seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA) has officially released the seat allotment list of the first round of counseling 2025 today, on 14 June.

Students who have qualified JEE Advanced and JEE Main 2025 can now check their seat allotment status by visiting Josaaa’s website josaaaa.nic.in. A total of 62,853 seats will be given through JOSAA Counseling 2025. Of these, 18,160 seats are only in IITs, while the rest will be filled in institutions like NITs, IIITs and GFTIS.

Counseling schedule

• Seat allotment (round 1): June 14, 10 am
• Online Reporting (Fee and Documents): 14 to 18 June, from 5 pm
• Problem solution related to fee payment: June 19, till 5 pm
• Last date to answer students’ questions: June 20, till 5 pm

List of necessary documents

• Class 10 Marksheet (for the date of birth)
• 12th marksheet
• Certificate for reserved category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS)
• PWD Certificate (if applied)
• Medical Certificate (In Annexure 7 format)
• Photo or canceled check of bank passbook
• OCI/Pio Card or Passport (If applied)

New rule in admission process

Josaa has made a big change this year. Between Round 2 and 5, students will need to confirm or leave their seat. If a student does not take any decision during this time, he will be debarred from JEE Advanced. The purpose of this rule is that no other qualified student should be deprived of the seat.

How to do Josaa Round-1 seat allotment check

1. First go to the official site josaa.nic.in
2. Click on the link “View Round-1 Seat Allocation”
3. Enter JEE Main 2025 application number, password and captcha
4. Login and see your seat allotment result on screen
5. Download the result and save for further processing

The result of JEE Advanced 2025 has been released and now the process of admission in IIT is also going to start. For students who have passed this exam, now the next big step is JOSAA counseling. Joint seat allotment Authority (JOSAA) will start the counseling process from 3 June 2025 i.e. 5 pm today.

Admission will be available in IITs, NITs, IIITs and other government engineering institutions across the country through JOSAA counseling. The last date for registration and choice of college/course for counseling is 12 June 2025. In such a situation, candidates who want to participate in counseling, they need to apply in time.

Who can apply?

All the candidates who have passed in JEE Advanced 2025 can be included in JOSAA counseling. Through this, they can get admission in prestigious institutions like IIT, NIT, IIIT and GFTI.

When will the mock seat allotment be?

The first mock seat allotment list will come on 9 June 2025.
The second mock list will be released on 11 June 2025.

Which documents will be necessary?

• Class 10th and 12th marksheets and certificates
• JEE Main or Advanced Admit Card
• Category or PWD Certificate (if applied)
• Medical certificate
• Bank details (if you want to take refund)
• Passport or OCI/PIO Card (if applied)

How much fee will be paid?

The partial entry fee for SC, ST and Divyang category is 20,000.
This fee for General, OBC-NCL and EWS category has been fixed at 45,000.

1. First go to josaa.nic.in.
2. Click on the link “Josaa Counselling 2025 Registration” given on the homepage.
3. Log in by entering your JEE Main or JEE Advanced roll number and password.
4. Now choose your favorite college and course and set them as per priority.
5. After filling all the information, submit the form and download one copy of it and keep it.
