Terminal or terminus simply means end. Such stations are those where the railway line ends. Junction means meeting point. When there are three or more railway lines going in different directions from a railway station, it is called a junction station. Junction stations are very important because from here passengers can catch trains going towards different cities and states. Such stations usually have many platforms and heavy crowd.
