The Indian Premier League season 18 is over, Royal Challengers Bangalore won their first trophy by defeating Punjab Kings in the final. This time the player of Sri Lankan player has received the best catch award in IPL 2025, who caught a surprise catch in the match against Chennai Super Kings. These award winners are Kamindu Mendis, who were included in the Sunrisers Hyderabad team. In the CSK vs SRH match held on 25 April, he caught that difficult catch of Dewald Braceid.

Mendis was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 75 lakh in the auction. This was his debut season, in which he played a total of 5 matches. Mendis scored 92 runs and took 2 wickets. However, last year’s runner-up Sunrisers Hyderabad was the third team to be out first.

In IPL season 18, the Orange Cap and Purple Cap were won by both Gujarat Titans players. Sai Sudarshan got Orange and the famous Krishna got the purple cap, both got Rs 10-10 as a prize money. Sudarshan became the emerging player of this year, with this he also got 10 lakh rupees separately.

Kavya Maran became impressed

Dewald Brevis scored 42 runs in 25 balls in this match, during which he also hit a four and 4 sixes. As soon as Kamindu Mendis caught incredible catch in the 13th over, the camera shifted to Kavya Maran. Kavya stood up and applauded for Mendis’ attempt. While commenting during the match, Ravi Shastri called it ‘Catch of the IPL’.

The eighth wonder is Kamindu Mendis!

Sri Lankan cricketer Kamindu Mendis is no less than the eighth wonder of the world. He equaled Don Bradman in terms of scoring the fastest 1,000 runs in Test cricket, Mendis had done this feat in 13 innings. Mendis also bowls bowling, the most amazing thing here is that they bowl with both hands. SRH bought him for Rs 75 lakh in mega auction.
