Patron of Jamiat Dawatul Muslimeen and well-known Deobandi scholar Maulana Qari Ishaq Gora has issued a video statement and registered a strong protest on this entire matter. In Indian tradition, women of different religions and communities have been observing purdah in their own ways. Even today, many women in rural areas remain veiled, which has always been accepted by the society. In such a situation, targeting only Muslim women is a step that harms social harmony.

Appeal to boycott shopkeepers

Maulana appealed to the women to socially and economically boycott the shopkeepers having such thinking. He said that one should not buy from a shopkeeper who does not respect women. Only when such people suffer financial loss will they be forced to change their thinking.

Demand for action from administration

Along with this, Maulana Qari Ishaq Gora also demanded from the government and administration that strict action should be taken against the shopkeepers who put up such discriminatory and derogatory banners. He said that the Constitution of the country gives equal rights to every citizen and it is legally wrong to discriminate against any citizen on the basis of religion or dress.

In the end he said that this is not just a matter of dress, but of deliberately targeting women of a particular community. If this is not stopped in time, then hatred and division in the society may increase further. He appealed to the people of all societies to maintain mutual brotherhood and protect the honor of women.

Famous Deobandi Ulema and patron of Jamiat Dawatul Muslimeen, Qari Ishaq Gora has expressed strong displeasure over a wrong tradition growing in the society. He said that after someone’s death, hosting a feast in his house and preparing various dishes is against the teachings of Islam.

Maulana said in his statement that nowadays people go to the house of the deceased after the funeral and eat as if they have reached a happy occasion. Many times people are seen praising the food, while the people of that house are immersed in sorrow. This attitude is not only against Shariat, but also contrary to humanity and empathy.

“When someone dies at home, neighbors and relatives should send food.”

He said that it has been instructed in Islam that when there is a death in someone’s house, the neighbors and relatives should send food to that house, so that the bereaved people can rest. Referring to the Hadith, he said that when Hazrat Jafar bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred, the Holy Prophet had said. Prepare food for Jafar’s family, because they are in grief.

Providing relief to the relatives of the deceased is Sunnah – Maulana

Maulana said that it is clear from this Hadith that it is Sunnah to provide relief to the family members of the deceased and not to expect a treat from them. But it is a pity that today this tradition has reversed. Now an atmosphere of biryani, sweets and feasts is created in the house of the deceased, whereas this should be a place of patience and prayers.

He said that feeding food at the funeral home has now become a tradition for show and due to social pressure, due to which our simplicity and religious sentiments are being lost.

Appeal to Muslims to give up artificial customs

Maulana appealed to the Muslims to leave this artificial custom and follow Sunnah-e-Nabavi. He said, “The real identity of religion lies in simplicity and feeling, not in pomp and show. There should not be a feast in the house of the dead, but prayers.
