Actress Karisma Kapoor and the children of her former husband and businessman late Sanjay Kapoor have claimed in the Delhi High Court that their father’s will is fake. The children say that the son’s name has been written wrong in the will and the daughter’s address has also been given wrong, which clearly raises doubts.

Karisma Kapoor’s lawyer made serious allegations

Senior lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani, while arguing in the court, said that such carelessness cannot be done by such an educated and intelligent person. He said that the will has been written in such a general and careless manner that it lowers the image of Sanjay Kapoor himself. Samaira Kapoor and her brother have filed a petition in the court saying that this will is not genuine. In this, no correct details of his father’s properties, jewelery and digital assets, crypto etc. have been given. Shraddha Suri Marwah, who is said to be the executor of the will, was also never informed that she had been given this responsibility.

Karisma Kapoor’s lawyer said that changes have been made in the will.

Mahesh Jethmalani, lawyer of actress Karisma Kapoor in Delhi High Court, said that this will is allegedly dated March 21, 2025 but changes were made in it several times before and after that. Investigation revealed that the will file was created from the computer of a person named Nitin Sharma while at that time Sanjay Kapoor was on leave with his son. He raised the question as to why a person would prepare his will on someone else’s computer. He said that there are contradictions between WhatsApp chats and documents too. The file of the will was changed several times, the certificate is incomplete and no lawyer was involved.

Delhi High Court asked questions

While hearing the case, Delhi High Court asked whether Sanjay Kapoor had made any will before. On this the children’s lawyer said that he had no information about this. Now the next hearing of this case will be on Tuesday.

Senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, appearing for the children of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor in the Delhi High Court, said in the court that it is highly suspicious that Sanjay Kapoor, an educated, internationally known businessman, does not even inform the person whom he is appointing as the executor in his will. Arguing in the court, he said that it is not natural for such an educated and sophisticated person to make a will without informing him, it smacks of fraud.

Karisma Kapoor’s lawyer said in the Delhi High Court that this will is such a blatant forgery that any lawyer would recognize it just by looking at it. He told the court that this document was prepared in the form of a Microsoft Word file and was last edited on March 17. During that time Sanjay Kapoor was on holidays with his son. In such a situation, the question is that if he was on leave then who changed this will. With which device and why the same person was later made a director in the company.

Court asked important questions to Karisma Kapoor’s lawyer

When the Delhi High Court asked whether the witnesses of the will have given affidavits, lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani said that no one has given so far. He said that Sanjay Kapoor’s second wife Priya Kapoor has taken some properties in her name as a nominee, but this is not a right but possession through fraud.

Karisma Kapoor’s lawyer demands from the court

During the hearing of the case in Delhi High Court, lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani requested the court to immediately order the States if any third party has rights over the properties. While arguing in the court, it was also told that Karisma Kapoor was informed about the will for the first time in July 2022 and that too through witnesses and not through any legal information. Considering the matter as serious, Delhi High Court has listed it for next hearing on October 13.

• Jethmalani – I have far better grounds to say that it should not be privacy. There is a public aspect of this case. From the beginning, there has been repeated efforts that we should be kept away from this will.

• Jethmalani – Now that the last time has come and the will should be revealed, suddenly this application comes. Its content must be revealed because it will let us know what has been left in the will.

Court order

This application has been filed by Priya Kapoor so that the defendant can be allowed to submit the list of properties in sealed envelope and constitute a privacy club. It has been agreed that the list of properties, whether movable property or real estate, will be submitted in sealed envelope.
