Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday (2 December 2025) along with Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Reached Shivkumar’s residence, where both the leaders had breakfast together. As soon as CM Siddaramaiah arrived for the breakfast meet, both DK brothers welcomed him with bouquets. DK Suresh touched the feet of the Chief Minister. Kunigal MLA Dr. Ranganath was also present on the occasion.

Just before this meeting, Congress sources clarified that any decision to change the Chief Minister in Karnataka will be taken only by Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. No such instructions have been given yet. At present, both the leaders have been asked to meet each other and resolve the matter. The breakfast prepared for Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was cooked at Shivakumar’s house, which included idli, dosa, upma, natti chicken and coffee.

According to the PTI report, the recent meeting is being projected as a cordial visit as three days ago, Shivkumar had similarly visited the Chief Minister’s official residence for a breakfast meet. Shivkumar had said on Monday (1 December 2025) that both he and the Chief Minister will continue to work together as a team. He also mentioned that the Deputy Chief Minister had invited Siddaramaiah for breakfast so that collective efforts could be discussed to fulfill the promises made to Karnataka. He also said that both of them are working like brothers. He stressed that there is no factionalism in the state unit of Congress and blamed the media for creating confusion. On the issue of leadership, both said that they will obey the high command.

This development is being seen as a step taken by the high command to stop the leadership tussle between the two and indicates that Siddaramaiah will continue to be the Chief Minister for now, especially ahead of the Belagavi Assembly session starting on December 8.

Mallikarjun kharge on siddaramaiah: On the speculation of the change of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Karnataka, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge clearly said on Monday (June 30, 2025) that the party high command has to take the final decision on the issue and no person should spread unnecessarily or confusion.

He further said, “If the Sangh is really so much concerned about Hindutva, then why has not been ended untouchability till now? The organization which describes itself as the protector of Hinduism should have erased untouchability. If they try to change anything of the Constitution, we will oppose it with full force.”
