Actually, this story is of 30-year-old Vidya, living under the area of ​​Attibele police station near Bengaluru. An ordinary housewife, but a woman in whose life a dreadful truth was hidden. Vidya had said in a statement given to the police before her death that her husband Basavaraj used to constantly taunt her by calling her crazy, keep her locked in the house and insult her. Not only this, along with her husband, her father-in-law Mariswamachari also used to torture Vidya.

Vidya had told that she had gone to sleep in her room on the night of 26th February, 2025 and she opened her eyes the next day in the evening of 27th February. When she regained consciousness, she felt severe pain in her thigh, as if someone had injected her. When her condition worsened and she reached the hospital, the examining doctor was shocked to see this heart-wrenching truth. Mercury was found in his body, which was slowly rotting his body parts.

Treatment continued for several months, but health did not improve.

After this terrible truth came to light, Vidya underwent treatment for a month at Oxford Hospital, then at Victoria Hospital. The doctor treating Vidya had said that the poison has spread throughout the body, the kidneys are also responding. After this dialysis started, but there was no improvement in Vidya’s health. Vidya kept fighting with death for her life for 9 months, kept on suffering, kept on bearing pain and then in the month of November, Vidya lost the battle of her life.

Police registered against husband and father-in-law FIR

Bengaluru’s Attibele police had registered an FIR against victim Vidya’s husband Baravaraj and father-in-law Mariswamachari on Sunday (November 23, 2025) after her statement. According to the FIR, Vidya was suffering from mercury poisoning in her body and her husband and father-in-law were accused of injecting mercury into her body with the intention of killing her. In this heart-wrenching case, a four-year-old innocent child lost his mother. At the same time, Vidya’s death has left a question before the society that, ‘If the husband becomes a murderer, then where will the wife go?’

A Rapido bike taxi driver in Bengaluru has been accused of molestation by a female passenger. She alleges that the rider had tried to hold her legs during the ride. The woman made a video of this incident and later lodged a complaint with the police.

The woman said in the post, ‘When I was returning to my PG from Church Street, the captain (driver) of Rapido tried to hold my legs while riding the bike. When he did this again, I said brother, what are you doing, don’t do it, but instead of stopping, he did the same again.

The woman said she was in no position to ask the driver to stop the bike as she was at a new place and did not know which way she was on.

The woman further said in the video, ‘When I reached my destination, an unknown person saw the situation and asked what happened. When I told him, he confronted the driver. After this, the driver of Rapido apologized to me and said that he will not do this again, but when he started leaving from there, he pointed his finger towards me, after this action of his I started feeling more insecure.

The woman said in her post, ‘I am sharing all this because no woman should have such an experience, neither in a cab, nor on a bike, nor anywhere. This is not the first time something like this has happened to me, but today I could not remain silent because I was feeling extremely unsafe and in a scary situation.

Company’s response to woman’s post

After the woman shared the post on Instagram, Rapido company has also responded. Rapido said, ‘We are extremely sorry to learn of the captain’s inappropriate behavior during your recent ride with us. Your safety and convenience is our biggest priority. Please give us some time to thoroughly investigate this matter. Bengaluru Police in Karnataka has arrested Dr. Mahendra Reddy, General Surgeon of Victoria Hospital, on Wednesday (October 15, 2025) for the murder of his wife Dr. Krutika M. Reddy. Investigation has revealed that Mahendra killed his wife by giving her an anesthetic drug called Propofol. This medicine is usually used only in operation theatre.

The two doctors got married on May 26, 2024, but within a year of their marriage, Kritika died on April 23, 2025. At that time she was living in her father’s house in Marathahalli, because her health was not well.

What was revealed in the police investigation,

Investigation revealed that Mahendra went there for two days and gave his wife several intravenous injections, saying it was part of his treatment, but within a few hours Kritika fell unconscious and was declared dead on arrival at a nearby private hospital.

Initially, the police registered it as unnatural death as the death appeared normal, but Krithika’s elder sister, Dr. Nikita M. Reddy, a radiologist, raised doubts and demanded a detailed investigation.

Accused arrested after forensic report came out

About six months later, the Forensic Science Laboratory’s report found the presence of propofol in several of Kritika’s organs, making it clear that her death was caused by the anesthetic drug. Subsequently, Marathahalli police registered the case as murder under section 103 of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS) and arrested Mahendra from Manipal in Udupi, where he was living since the incident. A look-out circular had already been issued against him.

O.T. And ICU Murder of wife using drugs

According to the police, Mahendra misused his professional access to the hospital to gain access to the medicines of the operation theater and ICU and used the same to murder his wife. Later he tried to link the death to natural causes. Now the police are investigating how he used his medical knowledge to plan and conceal this crime.

Mahendra’s family was already involved in criminal cases

Further investigation also revealed that Mahendra’s family was already involved in criminal cases. His twin brother Dr. Nagendra Reddy GS had several fraud and criminal cases registered against him at HAL police station in 2018. Whereas Mahendra and his other brother Raghava Reddy GS were made co-accused in the case of threatening the family of the same complainant in 2023. Kritika’s family alleges that these facts were hidden at the time of marriage.

He did MBBS from Vaidehi Institute of Medical Sciences, MD (Dermatology) from Navodaya Medical College, Raichur and DNB (Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy) from NBEMS. She was going to launch her dream clinic “Skin and Scalp” on May 4, 2025.

Kritika’s father demands justice for his daughter

His father Muni Reddy lodged a formal complaint on October 14, 2025, following which Mahendra was arrested. He told the police, ‘Kritika had complete trust in her husband. He had faith in both their love and profession. But the same medical knowledge which is used to save people’s lives was used to take his life. 28 April, 2024: A case of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation was registered against Revanna and his father, former minister HD Revanna on the basis of a complaint lodged by his former domestic assistant.

29 April, 2024: The complainant went missing, allegedly kidnapped by Revanna’s parents to prevent testimony against Revanna.

30 April, 2024: JD (S) suspended Revanna from the party.

2 May, 2024: The Karnataka police registered a case against Revanna for rape and issued a lookout notice for the ‘absconding’ MP.

4 May, 2024: The abducted former domestic assistant was rescued by the SIT.

On Friday (August 01, 2025), Lokayukta officials raided the residence of a former clerk of Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL). IPS officer’s house searched

On July 23, Lokayukta officials searched the premises associated with 8 officers including an IAS officer in a case of disproportionate assets and recovered assets worth Rs 37.42 crore. At the same time raids were conducted on 41 locations associated with officers posted in Bangalore Urban, Mysore, Tumkuru, Kalburgi, Koppal and Kodagu districts.

During raids on 5 locations associated with Vasanti, the authorities recovered assets worth Rs 9.03 crore, including 3 plots, 4 houses, three acres of agricultural land worth Rs 7.4 crore, jewelery worth Rs 12 lakh and vehicles worth Rs 90 lakh.
