He further said, ‘Furthermore, the Congress Party believes that the policy of bulldozer justice adopted in Uttar Pradesh is wrong, illegal and unjust. A Congress ruled state like Karnataka should not follow the illegal path of Uttar Pradesh.

What did the Karnataka Home Minister say in the Assembly?

Earlier on Thursday, G. Parameshwara had said in the assembly that the government would demolish buildings built with money obtained from drug trafficking.

P Chidambaram has referred to the comment of the Supreme Court bench headed by CJI BR Gavai in November 2024. In which the bench had said that if a bulldozer is used on a house because the person living in the house is an accused or has been convicted in some crime, it is equivalent to imposing punishment on the entire family. The top court had said, ‘In our view, our constitutional system and criminal jurisprudence will never allow this.’

Karnataka News: Karnataka government has approved the new policy for women employees. Under this, female government employees aged 18 to 52 years will get one day paid menstrual leave every month. This means that a total of 12 days leave can be taken in a year.

The government says that this step has been taken keeping in mind the convenience of women employees and their well-being at the workplace. This policy will be applicable to all permanent, contractual and outsourced women employees of the state. Women employees can avail this leave without any medical certificate. This will be recorded separately in the attendance or leave register. This holiday cannot be combined with any other holiday.

Government’s new decision after petition

This decision came after a petition by the Bangalore Hotel Association, which said that the menstrual leave policy made earlier was discriminatory as it did not include government employees.

More than 1.5 lakh women employees benefited

After the implementation of the new order, more than 1.5 lakh women government employees of the state will get the benefit of this special holiday. This facility will also be applicable to contract employees. Labor Minister Santosh Lad said that this decision will promote the health and mental strength of women.

No medical certificate required for leave

According to the new instructions of the government:

• Medical certificate is not necessary to take menstrual leave.
• This holiday cannot be combined with any other holiday.
• It will be necessary to keep separate records of menstrual leave in offices.

Why did the demand arise?

In the petition of the association, it was said that most of the jobs of women in the state are in government departments, hence it is wrong to keep them out of the scope of this holiday. After this argument in the court, the government issued this new order.

Karnataka High Court has put an interim stay on the government’s order regarding Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in the state. The High Court on Tuesday (October 28, 2025) has given a big decision regarding the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Along with this, the High Court has also issued a notice to the state government. In fact, the Karnataka government had ordered to ban the activities of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in the state and make it mandatory to take prior permission for gathering of more than 10 people in public places, on which the High Court has now given a major decision. This decision of the High Court is a big blow to the government led by CM Siddaramaiah.

This decision of the state government was challenged in the Karnataka High Court and it was alleged that it was against the fundamental rights of the citizens. Hubli based Punashchitna Seva Sanstha had filed a petition in the High Court. At the same time, the Karnataka government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced to challenge this decision of the High Court. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the state government will file an appeal in the division bench of the High Court against the interim order of the Dharwad bench.

Petitioner’s lawyer argued in court

A single bench of Justice Nagaprasanna has issued an order to put an interim stay on this order of the government and said that the next hearing in this case will be on November 17, 2025. On behalf of the petitioner, senior advocate Ashok Harnahalli argued in the court, ‘The government has ordered that permission will have to be taken for any gathering of more than 10 people. This is a restriction on the fundamental rights given by the Constitution. Even if a party is held in a park, that too will be considered an illegal gathering as per the government orders.

Government order was issued in the beginning of this month

This government order, which was postponed by the Karnataka High Court, was issued earlier this month. In the order issued by the state government, guidelines were given that no private or social organization can organize any program, meeting or cultural event in government or public properties like government schools, college grounds or other institutional premises without written permission.

In this order, the district administration was also directed to ensure that the rules are strictly followed and in case of any violation, action should be taken under the Karnataka Land Revenue Act and Education Act.

Bengaluru stampede: The IPL 2025 champion Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is now badly trapped in the legal digestion. The Karnataka government has given permission to prosecute RCB and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) in the case of stampede at M Chinnaswamy Stadium during the team’s Victory Parade.

The government has taken this decision on the basis of the report of the inquiry Commission, in which RCB, KSCA and DNA Entertainment Networks Private Limited have been blamed for the incident.

What was the matter?

RCB created history by winning the final of IPL 2025 on 3 June. After a long wait, the team won the title for the first time. The next day, that is, on June 4, the RCB team returned to Bangalore and a grand Victory Parade and Ceremony was held at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The crowd could not be controlled during this event. Excess tickets were distributed, due to which more people reached the stadium than capacity and due to chaos there was a stampede. In this painful accident, 11 people died and about 50 people were injured.

What does the inquiry commission report say?

The Karnataka government formed a single -member inquiry commission under the leadership of retired Justice John Michael Dicunha on 5 June after the incident. This report was recently submitted to the government, which has been accepted by the Karnataka Cabinet on 24 July.

In this report, RCB, KSCA and DNA Entertainment have been convicted of this accident. according to the report,

No concrete arrangements were made for mob control.

There was serious negligence in ticketing and admission system.

The administration and organizing committee ignored the security standards.

Now what next?

Karnataka Law Minister H.K. Patil has told the news agency PTI that the government has approved the report of Justice Dicunha and now RCB, KSCA and event company will be prosecuted. Along with this, the role of police and other government departments will also be investigated, because questions have also been raised on the negligence of government officials in the report of the Commission. Patil further said that in this report, the names of all the institutions and people responsible for the incident are registered and a strong investigation will be done against all.
