This film was shelved for 3 years and after seeing it one can understand why, otherwise any film starring Saif Ali Khan would surely have failed in the theatres. The hype of this film was also due to Saurabh Dwivedi but he turned out to be the weakest link of this film. We have rarely seen such a light villain. This film is based on a story on which many films and series have been made, then why was it made? What did Netflix buy it for? This is beyond understanding. Obviously, if the name of Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies was associated with it, it got released, otherwise it is not the duty of film makers to make such films.

Story
This is the story of an honest police officer Pawan whose character is played by Saif Ali Khan. Saurabh Dwivedi plays the role of a corrupt leader whom people worship, but he uses their children for wrongdoings. Pawan’s brother falls in love with a girl from another caste and then duty, family, honor killing, all that happens which we have seen thousands of times.

how is the movie
This film is of a completely old type, if it had come 20 years ago it would have been good, it would have been enjoyable, but now it seems even more outdated than outdated. This seems to be why it was created. After having a producer like Shahrukh and an actor like Saif, you expect that something new will happen, something different will happen but it does not happen. The film is very predictable. You know what will happen next, and how it will happen is not surprising. The film is about 2 hours long but at no point do you connect with the film. You don’t feel any thrill, you don’t get emotional, the movie just keeps going on and ends, and you feel that your 2 hours were wasted, this was Netflix and chill.

acting
Saif Ali Khan has done an amazing job, Saif has settled into this desi character. Anyway, when a person like Saif plays a desi character, a different swag is seen in him and it was visible here too, but what could Saif do alone? If the story had been better, Saif would have benefited a lot from this film like he got from Omkara. When Saurabh Dwivedi comes into the frame for the first time, it seems that he is going to do an interview in the audience. He seems to have the same style, he doesn’t look like a villain at all, and acting probably isn’t his zone either. Rasika Duggal has done a very good job. Sanjay Mishra is great, Zakir Hussain looks good, Manish Choudhary impresses a lot.

Writing and Direction
Pulkit has written and directed this story, he has made Bhaskar, expectations from him were very high but here he disappointed. There is nothing new in the story, they should have understood why the audience would watch such a story? Hopefully, he will do something new in his cinema in the future.

Overall, watch it for Saif’s performance otherwise not.
