Tight security arrangements have been made in Delhi amidst the Kavad Yatra. On the instructions of the Rekha Gupta government of Delhi, the police is stationed on the Kavad Marg and the needs of the Kanwari are being taken care of. Meanwhile, on Sunday (July 13), the police detained an e-rickshaw driver in Shahdara.

Actually, glass panels were kept in this e-rickshaw, which broke down on the Kavad road. This spread pieces of glass throughout the way. The police informed that 19 glass panels were loaded in the e-rickshaw. The driver was taking them from Shalimar Garden in Uttar Pradesh to Seelampur in Delhi.

During this time, he was hit by a vehicle from behind, causing the panel to break and fell on the road between Chintamani Chowk and Jhilmil Metro Station.

SDM shared the video
Kusum Pal, the driver of the e-rickshaw, is a resident of Ghaziabad and has been detained by the police for questioning. His route is being investigated and CCTV footage is also being investigated.

The matter first came to light on July 12 when the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) of Seemapuri shared a video, in which the broken glass was seen on the Kandar route. However, this video was recorded even earlier on June 10, which was uploaded by a man named Piyush. He was informed about the glass being spread through his friend Montu.

After the matter came to light, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of Seemapuri inspected the scene and found that there were only a few pieces left there. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) cleaned on that road that morning.

Case filed for inciting religious sentiments
According to the report of the news agency PTI, the same night a junior engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) also alerted the police by calling PCR. Based on his statement, a case was registered at Seemapuri Police Station on Sunday (July 13) under Section 125 of the Indian Justice Code (the task of endangering human life or personal security) and 299 (deliberately and malicious work) with the intention of hurting religious sentiments).

Fear of mischievous elements
Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra has also posted on X and expressed concern over the glass on the Kavad Yatra route and assured action. Kapil Mishra said that some mischievous elements in Shahdara scattered glass for about one kilometer on the Kavad Yatra route. Employees of Public Works Department and Corporation are cleaning the road. Local MLA Sanjay Goyal is present on the spot and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has also taken cognizance of the matter.
