He said that during ‘Operation Sindoor’, India’s indigenous systems surprised the whole world because our defense systems showed their strength. Rajnath said that today we are not only making fighter jets or missile systems, but we are also preparing for a new -age war technology.

What is the Cauvery Engine Project?

The engine is an indigenous jet engine developed by the Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE) of India, a laboratory under the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). According to DRDO, it is a low-bypass twin-splice turbofan engine designed to generate an thrust of about 80 Kn, which was initially intended to provide strength to Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas.

The Cauvery engine has a flat-rated designed to reduce the thrust loss in high temperature and high speed conditions. Its twin-lane Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) ensures accurate control with manual backup for additional reliability. This design enables the engine to perform better in many operating conditions.
