Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has made a scathing attack on Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Kerala CM had criticized the encroachment action in Bengaluru. Shivkumar has said that senior leaders should not interfere in any matter without knowing the ground reality.

Karnataka’s Deputy CM called the comment unfortunate

During discussion with the media, Shivkumar termed such criticism as unfortunate. He said that leaders from outside the state will have to understand the reality of Bengaluru while making any kind of statements. Action was taken on this land to save public property. It was not our intention to target any particular community.

Land mafia tried to convert it into a colony

Giving a statement on the encroachment action, Shivkumar said that this place was a garbage dumping site. An attempt was made to convert it into a slum. We have asked people to migrate to new places. Some of them are also local people. The government is trying to protect public space. He said that we do not believe in running bulldozers. He has also appealed to the Kerala CM not to comment without information. We cannot promote slums. This helps in expanding the land mafia.

Kerala CM had posted on social media

Actually, Kerala Chief Minister Vijayan had made a Facebook post. In this he strongly criticized the vandalism in Fakir Colony and Wasim Layout in Bengaluru. He had described this action as very shocking. He linked this action to the Muslim community. He alleged that Muslims have been living in these areas for years. Accused the Karnataka government of adopting the North Indian bulldozer justice model.

Pinarayi Vijayan said that it is extremely objectionable for Southern Railways to make students sing RSS songs during the inauguration of Vande Bharat. He said that this song continuously promotes religious hatred and communal politics and its inclusion in the government program is a violation of the principles of the Constitution.

CM Vijayan alleged that ‘hardcore Hindutva politics’ was introduced in the programme. According to him, such steps weaken the secularism of government events and ‘narrow political thinking’ is working behind it. Vijayan said that the Sangh Parivar is also using the country’s largest public sector undertaking – the Railways – for its ‘communal political propaganda’. He also alleged that Southern Railways shared the song on social media as a ‘patriotic song’, which is ‘like making fun of the freedom movement’.

Vijayan has already criticized RSS
Last month too, Pinarayi Vijayan had compared RSS with Zionist groups in Israel and said that both ‘have similar views on many issues.’ Apart from this, he had also objected to the Central Government’s decision to celebrate the centenary of RSS, saying that issuing a stamp and Rs 100 coin in its name was an ‘insult to the Constitution’.

School time increased by 30 minutes

Meanwhile, Shivnakutty reiterated that according to the instructions of the Kerala High Court, school time has been extended 30 minutes. 15 minutes in the first part of the day and 15 minutes in the second part. He said that he is not taking any ‘arrogant’ stance on this issue and he cannot go out of the court order.

The minister said that he is ready to interact with Samasta or any other organization, but there can be no discussion regarding the court order. Changes in the time of schools have become an issue in the state and it is being opposed by some Muslim organizations, including Sames, which argues that it will affect the classes of madrasas.

Delimitation: Till now only statements were coming from the leaders of South Indian states on the issue of delimitation, but now the fight has started on this issue. A big meeting was held in Chennai today (March 22) on this issue. CM and deputy CM of five states participated in it. Leaders from three other states also attended this meeting. All the public representatives involved in the meeting counted the side effects to their states with delimitation.

This meeting was held under the leadership of Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin. Kerala Chief Minister P Vijayan, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivkumar participated in it. Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin: The delimitation will prove to be extremely bad for those states who strictly implemented family schemes for population control and succeeded. Telangana CM Revanth Reddy: Today there is a big challenge before the country. The BJP wants to impose a penalty on the south states through delimitation. We are a country. We respect it, but South India cannot accept this delimitation on the basis of population. This will limit us politically. This will be like punishing us for good work (population control and economic progress). We have to stop the BJP from implementing the delimitation.

Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivkumar: South India always retained family planning policies and controlled the population. This is why it became a progressive area. We always worked in the national interest. Through delimitation, there is an attempt to decrease the seats of our states. We will not let this happen.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Maan: Where the BJP has been winning, it wants to increase seats and where it has to face defeat, it wants to reduce seats. We will oppose such delimitation.

BJD chief Naveen Patnaik from Odisha: On the basis of population, delimitation will be unfair to those southern states who control the population through family planning schemes in the country. The delimitation should not be applied on the basis of population. I would advise that after discussing with all the parties in this matter, the Central Government should take some steps on this.

What is the issue of delimitation?
The country has not been delighted since the last 5 decades. After the year 2026, it is considered to be fixed. In the delimitation, the seats of the Lok Sabha will be distributed according to the population. That is, in the state where there is more population, there will be more seats and where there is less population, that state will get less seats.

Looking at the population figures of 2011 itself, there has been a huge increase in population in North Indian states, where the population in South Indian states remained under control. In such a situation, it is clear that the Lok Sabha seats in the states of North India like UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, MP will increase a major increase, while the representation of South Indian states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana will be reduced in Parliament. This is the reason that the South Indian states have come face to face with the Center on this issue.
