In the results of local body elections in Kerala, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has registered a historic victory in Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation. BJP has hoisted saffron in Thiruvananthapuram, which was the stronghold of Left Democratic Front (LDF) for four decades. This performance of BJP before the assembly elections in Kerala has created a stir in the politics of the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated BJP on this historic victory.

PM Modi expressed gratitude to the people of Kerala

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (December 13, 2025) shared a post on social media platform X and thanked the people of Thiruvananthapuram for their victory in the elections. He said, “I express my gratitude to all the people of the state who voted for BJP and NDA candidates in the local body elections held in Kerala. Kerala is now fed up with the UDF and LDF. The people of the state now consider NDA as the only option which can provide good governance and create a developed Kerala full of opportunities for all.”

My gratitude to the people across Kerala who voted for BJP and NDA candidates in the local body polls in the state. Kerala is fed up of UDF and LDF.
PM Modi said in another post, “Thank you Thiruvananthapuram! The mandate given to BJP-NDA in Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation is a historic turning point in the politics of Kerala. People have full faith that only our party can fulfill the development aspirations of the state. Our party will work hard for the development of this vibrant city and improve the ease of living for the people.”

PM Modi congratulated BJP workers

My gratitude to all hardworking BJP Karyakartas who have worked among the people, which has ensured a spectacular result in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation.
— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) December 13, 2025

Along with this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “I express my gratitude and congratulations to all the hardworking BJP workers who worked among the public to ensure a spectacular election result in Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation. Today is a day to remember the hard work and struggle of those workers who have been working at the grassroots level in Kerala for many generations, due to which this result has been possible today.” He said that our workers are our strength and we are proud of them.

Left got a big blow in Kerala

The victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and NDA candidates in the civic elections of Kerala capital Thiruvananthapuram is being considered a big political blow for the Left parties, because the Left has been in control here for more than four decades. Apart from this, it is also a blow for Congress because Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has been elected MP from Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha seat for four consecutive times.

Of the five municipal corporations in Kerala, four have been won by the Congress-led UDF, while one each has gone to the LDF and NDA. Talking about Municipal Council, UDF has won 54, LDF 28 and NDA has won one. In District Panchayat, LDF has won 7 and UDF has won 7.

PAM Disease: In recent times, a very dangerous disease has increased the concern in Kerala and now West Bengal. This disease is known as Primary Amoebic Meningoencephalitis (PAM), which is colloquially known as ‘brain eating amoeba’. Its cause is a parasite named Naegleria fowleri. It directly attacks the human brain and even after starting treatment, the chances of survival are very low.

How did the disease spread?

According to doctors, this parasite is often found in warm water ponds, rivers and lakes. When a person inhales water through the nose while bathing or swimming, then this amoeba reaches the brain and spreads the infection. This disease does not spread from one person to another, but only through water.

rapidly increasing cases

According to the data given in Parliament on Friday, the situation is very worrying. Union Minister of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav told the Lok Sabha that in 2025, 170 people in Kerala alone would be affected by the disease. Of these, 42 people have died.

This figure is shocking because till September there were a total of 500 cases worldwide, but in just one and a half years, more than 100 cases have been reported in Kerala. According to the minister, 2 cases, 2 deaths in 2023, 39 cases, 9 deaths in 2024 and 170 cases, 42 deaths in 2025. It is clear that this disease has spread rapidly this year.

government action

Considering the situation as serious, the Health Ministry has taken several steps.

NCDC of Kozhikode has done a detailed study on this disease.

ICMR and ICAR are investigating and monitoring it.

18 VRDL labs across the country are testing and monitoring this disease.

State governments have issued warnings asking people to remain alert.

The initial symptoms of Naegleria fowleri infection look like normal fever or cold and cough, so people often ignore it. But this mistake can prove costly. Are you dismissing it as a common disease? Be careful! Has a destructive ‘brain-eating amoeba’ made a home in your body? Therefore, be careful as soon as you see these symptoms.

Puja takes place in the temple from 3 pm to 10 pm.

Ancient History of Kodungallur Temple

Thanks to fast bowler KM Asif’s five wickets, Kerala pulled off an upset by defeating defending champion Mumbai by 15 runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Group A match here on Thursday.

Mumbai suffered its first defeat in its five matches in this T20 tournament but still the team is on top of the group with 16 points. With its third win, Kerala has reached third place in this pool of five teams with 12 points, while Andhra is also at second place with 12 points. Kerala is slightly behind Andhra in net run rate.

The Mumbai team, adorned with star players, while chasing the target of 179 runs, was all out for 163 runs in 19.4 overs. The Mumbai team, led by Indian fast bowler Shardul Thakur, included players like Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dubey.

Batting first, Kerala scored 178 runs for five wickets. Sanju Samson gave a great start to Kerala. He scored 46 runs in 28 balls which included eight fours and one six.

However, due to the dismissal of Rohan Kunummal (02) and Samson, Kerala’s score in the seventh over became 58 runs for two wickets. Samson kept most of the strikes to himself and faced Mumbai’s star bowlers responsibly. After his dismissal the scoring pace slowed down. Vishnu Vinod scored 43 runs in 40 balls.

Vinod made a partnership of 63 runs with Mohammad Azharuddin (32). Fast bowler Sharafuddin’s inning of 35 runs in 15 balls took Kerala to a strong score.

After the early dismissal of Ayush Mhatre (03), Mumbai put the team in a strong position with the 80-run partnership between Ajinkya Rahane (32) and Sarfaraz Khan (52) for the second wicket.

In the 12th over, Mumbai’s score was 99 runs for three wickets and they were moving towards the target comfortably. But in the 18th over, Asif (five wickets for 25 runs) changed the course of the match. He took the wickets of Sairaj Patil (13), Suryakumar (32) and Shardul (0) in the same over, taking the score to 149 runs for seven wickets.

Asif ended Mumbai’s innings by dismissing Shams Mulani and Hardik Tamore in the last over. Thirty-two-year-old Asif has got a lot of success from this Lucknow pitch this season, so far he has taken 13 wickets in four matches of Mushtaq Trophy.

In the other match of the group, Assam defeated Vidarbha by 58 runs while Andhra defeated Chhattisgarh by eight wickets. Whereas Odisha defeated Railways by one run in a thrilling match.

First famous Urdu poet Jawad Read this couplet of Sheikh-

‘I am thinking this while packing my things,
who don’t live anywhere They Where are you going…’

You all must have understood its meaning. But today the lion’s share is not on humans, but on migratory birds, who leave their cities every year to settle in India. How much struggle one has to struggle to survive can be learned from these foreign birds, because in winter they have neither home nor food and water. A.B.P. explainer Let us understand why migratory birds leave their homes in winter, how they travel thousands of kilometers and why they come to India only…

Question 1- When and from where do migratory birds come to India?
answer- every year ok September In the month of May, millions of birds leave their original home and set out on a long journey. These birds come to India in the same way as we go to the mountains in summer. This is the most siberia Come from far flung areas. As Yamal Peninsula, Taimyr Lake, Lena River area, Yakutia And Chukotka,

some come arctic from russia, some mongolia and China’s Tibet from the plateau, some kazakhstan elders of steppe something else from the areas scandinavia i.e norway, sweden And finland They also come from areas like They gradually reach India from the first week of September to the end of November.

come first They Small birds that fly quickly on the way, like amur Falcon and Rosie starlingThen october Ducks come in, Geese And flamingocome last in november siberian crane And again and again-headed goose,

There are two main routes for these birds to come to India…

hindukush And karakoram Entering Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan via Pakistan over the mountains.

This is the most difficult The way is to cross the Himalayas directly.

World’s highest flying bird bar-headed goose mount Everest It also flies over India and enters India via Nepal and Uttarakhand. It flies at an altitude of 8-9 thousand meters, where the air oxygen It is very rare, but their blood and lungs are so special that they can do it.

Bar-headed goose flies at an altitude of 8-9 thousand meters

come in largest numbers Northern pintail, Northern shoveler, gadwall, common teal Like ducks. Their number ranges from 50-60 lakh every year. flamingo It ranges from Rs 5-6 lakh. siberian crane Now there are very few left, only 50-70 come.

Question 2- How do migratory birds travel thousands of kilometers?
answer- Come, now let us know about real magic. They Magic that even scientists are surprised to see that these birds do not exist without any mapWithout GPSHow do we cover a distance of 10-15 thousand kilometers without internet without moving even an inch?,

First of all, these small birds come out at night and bigger birds like goose, crane And flamingo They fly both day and night. They fly continuously for 10-12 hours at a time, then rest for 2-3 days in a lake or field, fill their stomach and then fly again. Like this the whole route 6-8 step Let’s complete in…

Now coming to magic, the first one is hidden in their eyes and mind. compassA special thing in their mind and beak crystal happens whose name is magnetiteThis is the earth’s magnetic Makes the area feel exactly like our compass The needle shows north direction. scientists by experiment It has been proved that if fake magnetic If you create an area then this Vomit Start flying in the direction. That means nature has created real within them. compass Has been fitted.

The second magic is that of the sun. If we fly during the day, we see the sun and know that we have to go in the south-west direction. Even if it is cloudy, there is a special protein in their eyes which helps them to see the sun. ultraviolet to the rays Too Sees from behind the clouds. That means whether there are clouds or fog, the sun cannot hide from them.

The third and most surprising magic is that of the night, when they fly after seeing the stars. of their brain hippocampus Part of the name recalls a map of the stars. scientists have Planetarium In experiment When the map of stars was rotated, the birds also started moving in the same direction. Meaning, the map of the entire sky is written in their mind.

The fourth magic is that of air. strong winds blowing in different directions at high altitude jet stream They say. These birds first climb up, catch the wind in the right direction and then keep gliding for hundreds of kilometers without flapping their wings. This is what makes their long flights possible.

is the fifth magic memory Of. The birds that have traveled the path once, remember the same path, the same lakes and the same fields and come back next year. satellite tracking It has been revealed that bar-headed goose Crosses the Himalayas every year through the same mountain pass. There is not even a meter here and there.

The most surprising thing is that the children who are flying for the first time, They Reach the right place even without parents. That means all this information about them DNA It is already written in.

Just as our home address is written inside us since birth, similarly the entire migration map is written inside them since birth.

Question 3- These birds could go anywhere in the world, then why do they come to India only?
answer- There are 4 big reasons for this…

of winter resort, when in the north siberia It gets cold up to -50 degrees and the entire land is covered with snow. And Then at that very time there is mild cold in India. The sun shines and the most important thing is that water never runs out. It is filled with thousands of lakes, rivers, swamps, sea shores, rice fields and fish farming ponds.

refuge of the himalayas, The Himalayas are the highest wall in the world, which stops the fierce cold winds coming from the north. Here you’llgame off Thrones’ Must have missed the north wall. Similarly, in the north there is a snow storm, while in the south there is mild cold and lots of water. That’s why India is perfect for them safe Is the zone.

old relationship, siberian crane They have been coming to India for more than 10 thousand years. This is the place for these birds DNA It is written in. Just as your village resides in your blood, so do their children. DNA It is written in it that if winter comes, we have to go to India.

no other way, Now in the world there are many old sights are over. First this bird Iran, Iraq, middle East elders of swamps They used to stay there also, but the swamps there dried up and hunting increased. now only india They The last big country left where millions hectare wetlands Survivors and love these birds. Go to see them and protect them.

Question 4- How long and where do these birds stay in India?
answer- These guests first start arriving in the first fortnight of September and leave by the end of April. That means they stay with us for about 7-8 months. But every bird has its own time and favorite place…

first team, Nagaland And Manipur in the mountains of october-In November they stop in such large numbers that the entire sky turns black.
The weather patterns have started changing across the country. As the month of November is passing, the cold is also increasing. On one hand, the weather remains clear and dry during the day, while on the other hand, as the evening approaches, a drop in temperature is also seen. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of a cyclonic storm. According to IMD, the new weather system forming in the Bay of Bengal is becoming increasingly active and it may take the form of a major cyclonic threat in the coming days.

According to IMD, the low pressure area near Malaysia and the Strait of Malacca currently remains there and the cyclonic circulation associated with it is active up to a height of 7.6 kilometers. It is estimated that this system will move in the west-northwest direction and turn into a depression over the South Andaman Sea in the next 24 hours and after that it may intensify into a cyclonic storm over the South Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours.

Heavy rain in next 5 days
Due to the effect of this cyclonic system, heavy rains are going to start in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Coastal Andhra Pradesh in the next 5 days. A warning of very heavy rain has been issued in Tamil Nadu along with heavy rain from 25 to 27 November on 28, 29 and 30 November. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Kerala and Mahe till 26 November. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on 29 and 30 November.

No respite from poisonous air in Delhi
The weather has changed in Delhi due to change in wind direction. The minimum temperature in the capital once again fell below 10 degrees Celsius on Monday, while despite the full day’s sunshine, the maximum temperature of Delhi also remained below normal. Due to cold weather and low wind speed, the level of pollution is highest at night. There is no hope of relief from poisonous air for the next one week.

Cold is increasing in UP
The weather is changing rapidly in Uttar Pradesh and now gradually the cold is increasing at night. Coldness may increase in the coming days. Meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh said that the decline in temperature that has been going on for the last 2-3 days will continue for the next 48 hours. The weather may remain dry in the state on November 25. Similarly, on 26, 27 and 28 November, despite the clear weather in the state, there may be fog in the morning.

Now the minimum temperature has started falling in the state. In many districts the minimum temperature has fallen below 10 degrees Celsius. Barabanki, Kanpur Nagar, Etawah and Meerut have recorded a minimum temperature of 9 degrees Celsius, while Muzaffarnagar has recorded a minimum temperature of 9.8 degrees Celsius and Bareilly 9.9 degrees Celsius.
mercury dropped in bihar
In Bihar, the weather remains clear and dry during the day, while on the other hand, a drop in temperature is seen as the evening approaches.
The Kerala government on Sunday ordered an inquiry into the alleged act of Southern Railways in making school students sing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) songs in the train after the inauguration of the Ernakulam to Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express.

General Education Minister V. Shivankutty has directed the Director of Public Instruction (DPI) to investigate and submit a report in this regard. According to a statement issued by the minister’s office, Shivankutty said that the government is taking the incident extremely seriously.

Kerala Education Minister ordered investigation

He said that politicizing children in government programs and using them to promote the communal agenda of a particular group is a violation of constitutional principles. The minister said, ‘The Director of Public Instruction (DPI) has been directed to immediately conduct an investigation and submit a report.’ He said that further appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of the report.

Union Minister Suresh Gopi also reacted

Sivankutty said it is the government’s responsibility to maintain the secular and national values of the country and steps will be taken to ensure that these principles are protected. However, Union Minister Suresh Gopi on Sunday justified the singing of RSS songs by students in the new train. He told reporters in Thrissur that this was part of the innocent celebration of the children.

The Minister of State for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Tourism said, ‘He felt like singing that song at that time and he sang it. Anyway, this is not an extremist song. A group of school students sang an RSS song in the Vande Bharat Express on Saturday, which triggered a sharp reaction in Kerala.

Kerala CM Vijayan had criticized

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had criticized Southern Railway regarding this. He had said that inclusion of the RSS song, which allegedly continuously spreads communal divisive politics, in the official program of the government is a violation of constitutional principles.

The Chief Minister had said that it was unacceptable for the Sangh Parivar to use the Railways for its alleged communal political propaganda. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly VD Satheesan had also said that making students sing RSS songs at government programs was ‘illegal and undemocratic’.

Railways shared the video of students

Southern Railway had reportedly removed this social media ‘post’ after criticism. Southern Railway re-posted the video of the song sung by the students and its English translation on social media platform ‘X’ on Sunday and wrote, ‘Students of Saraswati Vidyalaya gave a spectacular rendition of their school song during the inauguration of Ernakulam Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express.’

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Southern Railways, making serious allegations. He claims that in the inaugural program of Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express, students were made to sing RSS’ ‘Gana Geet’. Vijayan expressed his strong protest against this, calling it against religious and political impartiality in government programmes.

What did CM Vijayan say?
Pinarayi Vijayan said that it is extremely objectionable for Southern Railways to make students sing RSS songs during the inauguration of Vande Bharat. This is absolutely unacceptable and must be opposed. He said that this song continuously promotes religious hatred and communal politics and its inclusion in the government program is a violation of the principles of the Constitution.

Secular image of government programs damaged – CM Vijayan
CM Vijayan alleged that ‘hardcore Hindutva politics’ was introduced in the programme. According to him, such steps weaken the secularism of government events and ‘narrow political thinking’ is working behind it. Vijayan said that the Sangh Parivar is also using the country’s largest public sector undertaking – the Railways – for its ‘communal political propaganda’. He also alleged that Southern Railways shared the song on social media as a ‘patriotic song’, which is ‘like making fun of the freedom movement’.

Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas also criticized the Railways.
Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas also shared a video, in which children are seen singing RSS songs. He tweeted, ‘Being a part of RSS song at the inauguration of Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Service shows a new low for Railways. Now even the announcement of new services is politically tinged and public representatives are being pushed back.

Vijayan has already criticized RSS
Last month too, Pinarayi Vijayan had compared RSS with Zionist groups in Israel and said that both ‘have similar views on many issues.’ Apart from this, he had also objected to the Central Government’s decision to celebrate the centenary of RSS, saying that issuing a stamp and Rs 100 coin in its name was an ‘insult to the Constitution’.

A special POCSO court in Kerala has sentenced a woman and her male partner to 180 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 11.7 lakh for sexually assaulting a minor girl. The court convicted both of them under several provisions of the POCSO Act, Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Juvenile Justice Act.

What is the whole matter?

The 33-year-old man was accused of repeatedly raping his girlfriend’s 12-year-old daughter, while the woman, who is the girl’s mother, was accused of aiding him in the heinous crime and also forcing her daughter to commit the crime. According to the prosecution, the woman forced her own daughter to watch her having physical relations with the accused, which left the child mentally and emotionally broken.

Where and how did the crime occur?

According to the report of Times of India, the woman earlier lived in Thiruvananthapuram with her husband and daughter. At the same time, he was identified with the accused through phone conversation. Gradually the relationship deepened and the woman ran away with him. Both of them started living together in Palakkad and Malappuram and during this time the minor girl was also with them.

Special Public Prosecutor Somasundaran A. Told in the court that the accused sexually abused the girl several times between December 2019 and November 2020. This harassment continued from December 2020 to October 2021. The court found the woman guilty on the grounds that she encouraged the crime, exerted mental pressure on the child and tried to hide the crime.

other serious allegations

The prosecution also said that the woman showed the girl obscene videos, gave her beer and threatened her by saying that a CCTV camera had been installed in her brain, so that if she told anything to anyone, it would be immediately known.

How did the matter come to light?

The matter came to light when the woman reached Malappuram police station and accused her parents of not giving her Aadhar card and other documents. When the police asked the woman’s parents to provide the certificate and they reached her house, they expressed their desire to see their granddaughter, but the woman refused. Later the neighbors told that the condition of the girl was bad and she was not even being given proper food. After this the family contacted Childline and the girl was sent to Snehita Centre. At the same time, the girl narrated the entire incident that happened to her.
