The education system of Bangladesh is currently at the center of major controversy. The Mohammad Yunus administration has proposed the appointment of music and dance teachers in primary schools under the National Education Policy (NEP). Its purpose is to connect children with art, culture and creative education, but radical groups like Jamaat-e-Islami, Khilafat Majlis and Bangladesh Khilafat Movement have started opposing it.

These organizations say that learning music and dance at an early age will weaken religious education. This can make children an atheist and the next generation will lose faith in Islam. Religious and moral education in schools should compulsorily implement. If this policy continues, then the future of Bangladesh will be in danger. The Islamic Movement Amir Syed Rezaul Karim of Bangladesh said that music and dance will promote corruption and moral decline in children.

Direct attack on Yunus administration
Radical groups have warned the Yunus administration that if art teachers are appointed in primary schools, there will be protests on the road, until religious teachers are recruited, they will continue the movement. He claims that this step is against the principles of Islam and Quran.

Conflict on education policy
This dispute is showing deep confrontation between education and society in Bangladesh. On the one hand, the government wants to provide holistic education to children, which includes art and culture. On the other hand, radical groups consider it an attack on religious values. Many people believe that this dispute can affect the cultural and political direction of Bangladesh. Radical groups in Bangladesh have warned that if the government moves towards the recruitment of art teachers in primary schools, protests will continue on the roads.

Khilafat majlis protest: The Yunus government of Bangladesh is not backing down from doing activities against India. After the violence on Hindus there, now fundamentalists of Bangladesh are opposing the Waqf law of India. “Khilafat Majlis”, an Islamic fundamentalist organization in Bangladesh, has threatened to protest against the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.

The organization has said that on April 23, their workers will hold a public meeting in front of the Indian High Commission and will raise their voice against the Waqf law. Along with this, they will also submit a memorandum to the officials of the High Commission.

Maulana Mamunul Haq said this in his statement

The party’s rich Maulana Mamunul Haq said that the BJP government in India has been targeting Muslims for a long time. He has left his radical Hindu supporters on Muslims. During this time, the land of Muslims is being forcibly captured. Temples and other buildings are being built there by snatching the properties of their private and Waqf.

He said that even after this his greed did not end. Now the Waqf Amendment Bill of 2025 has been passed, which has given legal approval to these land occupations. We have already expressed our opposition and displeasure against these decisions. Muslims of India are protesting against this law. This bill interferes with the religious rights and rules of Muslims. Maulana Mamunul Haq said that the entire Muslim world should raise voice on the violence against Muslims in India.

‘The issue should be raised on international forums’

He said that the government of India and some media there are repeatedly propagating that minorities are being tortured in Bangladesh. In fact, due to the silence and indifference of the Bangladesh government about the violence on Muslims in India, India gets a chance to spread wrong information.

He said that the Bangladesh government should express its concern against the killing and atrocities of Muslims in India and oppose it. Also raised this issue vigorously in international forums such as the United Nations.

Relationship between India and Bangladesh is not better

In August last year, when the then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and the interim government was formed under the leadership of Nobel Peace Prize winner Mohammad Yunus, since then activities against India in Bangladesh have increased significantly. There have been many incidents of violence against Hindus in Bangladesh in the last eight months. Along with this, many protests have also been seen against BSF near the Indo-Bangladesh border.

Mohammad Yunus has started strengthening relations with anti -India countries China and Pakistan. He also made a controversial statement about the north-eastern states of India in Beijing, the capital of China, on which Prime Minister Narendra Modi advised him to speak thoughtfully during the BIMSTEC conference in Bangkok recently. At the same time, former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina accused Mohammad Yunus of pushing the country towards terrorism.
