The audience was much waiting for South Star Vijay Deverakonda’s film ‘Kingdom’. The film was released in 2025 but could not win the hearts of the audience after its release. ‘Kingdom’ was a flop at the box office and hence now the makers have decided not to make the sequel of the film ‘Kingdom 2’. ‘Kingdom’ director Naga Vamsi himself has confirmed that a sequel to the film will not be made.

Speaking to IdleBrainLive, ‘Kingdom’ director Naga Vamsi said, ‘I don’t want to promote my films too much or praise them too much, because this method proved to be very bad for me in 2025.’

‘I knew that the film would not work’
Regarding the box office verdict of ‘Kingdom’, Naga Vamsi said – ‘About a week before the release, I knew that the film would not work. It was not about being a hit or a flop. I knew there was something wrong in the second part of the film. It should have been emotionally strong, but it was not. Somewhere that basic feeling was missing in this film. We knew that Kingdom was not a bad film, but I still had some doubts. Our aim was to recover about 70 percent of the budget on the very first day. Once the film is released, you can’t change anything. Therefore, our entire focus was on the tremendous opening.

‘We’re not making Kingdom 2’
Regarding the flop of ‘Kingdom’, Naga Vamsi said- ‘I am not blaming anyone. If the film flops at the box office, then the entire responsibility for it is mine. The film is not bad, but we made a mistake somewhere. Whether there was a mistake in casting or something else, I still can’t tell properly. Some people said that there was something wrong with the music. But, I still don’t understand. The director further said- ‘We will not make Kingdom 2. There is no point in talking about it right now. This will only harm Gautam. However, we are collaborating again on a different project.

Today, the makers had already taken the lead at the box office by releasing the Telugu film ‘Kingdom’ a day before the release of both Bollywood’s ‘Son of Sardar 2’ and ‘Dhadak 2’. Now the film seems to be overshadowing the initial earnings of these recent releases of Bollywood on the second day.

The ‘Kingdom’, released on 31 August, has been released in a number of languages. This film has come after Vijay’s old film ‘The Family Star’ flopped. However, the film was already made instead of.
