The third match of the five -match Test series between India and England is being played at Lord’s ground from Thursday. On the third day of the match, Indian batsman KL Rahul has scored a century and registered his name in the pages of history. A century on this ground is special for any batting, because the name of the player who scored a century here becomes immortal in the history of cricket. This batsman scored a century on Lord’s ground

The first century was scored by England player Alan Steel on this historic ground in Lord’s. Steel first recorded his name on the Honors Board by scoring a century against Australia in 1884, 141 years ago.

For India, this batsman hit the first century on Lord’s ground

Vinu Mankad is the player to score the first century for India on Lord’s ground. Mankad did this feat in the year 1952. Mankad scored 184 runs against England during this period.

KL Rahul has become only the second Indian cricketer to score more than one century on the Lord’s ground. He has completed his century in 176 balls in the Indo-England Third Test being played at Lord’s. This is also his second in the current series and a total 10th century of Test career. Let us know that before Rahul, only one Indian batsman has been able to score more than one century on Lord’s.

In the Lord’s Test, KL Rahul started the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal was dismissed for just 13 runs, but Rahul kept one end. He first shared a 61 -run partnership with Karun Nair, but his 141 -run partnership with Rishabh Pant kept the Indian team in a claim to win the Lord’s Test. Pant was run out on a score of 74 runs in this innings.

KL Rahul’s second century at Lord’s

This is KL Rahul’s second century on Lord’s ground. His first Test century came in the year 2021 on this historic ground, when he scored 129 runs against England. Talk about the Indian batsman who scored the most centuries on Lord’s for India, then his name is Dilip Vengasarkar. He has played a total of 3 century innings on this ground and he is not only the Asian batsman of India but also the most centuries on Lord’s ground.

Till now 10 batsmen have scored centuries in a Test match for India at Lord’s, the first Indian Veenu Mankad to do so. After him, Dilip Vengasarkar, Gundappa Vishwanath, Ravi Shastri, Mohammad Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly, Ajit Agarkar, Rahul Dravid, Ajinkya Rahane and KL Rahul have done this.
