Petrol Limit Set: The country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address a few days ago, had asked people to reduce the consumption of petrol and diesel. A few days later, the prices of petrol and diesel were increased. Due to which the news spread among the people that there is a shortage of petrol and diesel in the country. Meanwhile, it is being claimed on social media that the government has set a limit on petrol and diesel.

In fact, such news is going viral on social media that the limit of petrol and diesel has been set in Chandigarh. In a post going viral, a social media user has shared a poster on which it is written, ‘Petrol-diesel quota fixed in Chandigarh. Petrol will not be available more than Rs 500 in 2 wheeler and Rs 1500 in four wheeler. In such a situation, posters are also being put up on petrol pumps. The user who shared this news has also expressed concern over it. This user has written at the end of his post, ‘The crisis has started.’ However, the government itself has now brought out the truth of this viral claim.

What is the truth of the viral claim?
Now the truth of this viral claim has been brought forward by the government itself. Government agency PIB Fact Check, while sharing the post on X (Twitter), has termed this post as fake. Along with this he wrote, ‘It is being claimed in the post on social media that limits have been fixed on petrol and diesel in Chandigarh, under which a maximum of Rs 500 petrol or diesel can be given to two-wheelers and a maximum of Rs 1500 to four-wheelers at a time. According to PIB fact check, this claim is fake.

It is further written in this post, ‘According to the Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh, the administration has neither implemented any such order nor has any such ban been imposed on the sale of petrol and diesel.’ It is further told in this post that there is no shortage of fuel in Chandigarh and the supply operations are going well. At the same time, the agency has forbidden people from believing in any such hollow claims and has also asked them to get information from official sources.
