How many films have crossed the Rs 500 crore mark so far?

South or Hindi, who has given the maximum Rs 500 crore?

Among Bollywood, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu industries, Bollywood holds the record of giving the highest number of Rs 500 crore films. After this, Telugu film industry is at second place. In the list below you can see which film industry has given how many 500 crore films.

• Bollywood- 7 (Jawaan, Pathan, Dangal, Chhaava, Stree 2, Gadar 2 and Animal)
• Tollywood (Telugu)- 5 (Pushpa 2, Kalki 2898 AD, Baahubali, Baahubali 2 and RRR)
• Kollywood (Tamil) -1 (2.0)
• Sandalwood (Kannada)- 2 (KGF 2 & Kantara Chapter 1)

It is clear that Tamil cinema has the least number of Rs 500 crore films. Only one Tamil film, ‘2.0’, the sequel of Rajinikanth starrer ‘Robot’, has been able to make it to this list. The most surprising film industry is Sandalwood which had only one film in this list but after ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ this number has increased to 2.

The year 2025 is about to end 9 months and during this time hundreds of films were released at the box office. All these films came from different films from Hindi to Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Some of these flops, some hits and some superhit were also there.

However, here we are talking about 10 films that came from different film industries and went on a big ruckus. That is, these are films that became a blockbuster, not actually a hit or superhit. So let’s take a look at them

2 blockbusters from Bollywood- ‘Chhava’ and ‘Saira’

• This year became the first blockbuster film Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhava’. This film, made in a budget of just 130 crores, managed to earn 601.54 crores in India and worldwide 807.91 crores
• The second number is Anit Padda and Ahaan Pandey’s ‘Saira’ which was made in just 45 crores according to Koi Moi. It earned 329.2 crores in India and worldwide 569.75 crores.

Malayalam cinema gave 2 blockbusters- ‘Thudaram’ and ‘Loca Chapter 1’

• This year, Mohanlal’s ‘Thaudaram’ got the title of becoming the first blockbuster film of Milollywood, which earned Rs 121.2 crore in India and Rs 234.5 crore. According to the Indian Express, the budget of the film was 28 crores.
• The second film is ‘Loca Chapter 1’ which is currently earning at the box office. Kalyani Priyadarshan’s film has been made in a budget of only 30 crores and it has earned the worldwide above 240 crores.

Telugu cinema gave 2 blockbusters- ‘Mad Square’ and ‘Sankrantik Vastunam’

• This year, Telugu cinema’s first blockbuster film Venkatesh’s’Sankrantik Object‘ Bunny. It was prepared for 50 crores according to Sixelk and the film’s earning in India was Rs 186.7 crore and worldwide was Rs 255.2 crore.
• ‘Mad Square’ was Tollywood’s second blockbuster this year. The film earned 50.12 crores in India and 72 crores worldwide. This was a low budget film.

Tamil cinema also gave 2 blockbusters- ‘Tourist Family’ and ‘Dragon’

• This year was the first blockbuster film ‘Dragon’ from Tamil cinema i.e. Kollywood, which earned 101.34 crores in India and worldwide 150.52 crores. According to the Times of India, the budget of the film was only 36 crores.
• This was followed by the second blockbuster named ‘Tourist Family’. The film earned 60.75 crores in India and worldwide 86.25 crores. According to the film’s budget Times of India, it was only 7 crores.

Two blockbusters of Kannada cinema- ‘Mahavatar Narasimha’ and ‘Su from So’

• If seen, this year was completely of Kannada cinema i.e. Sandalwood. Two low budget films shook the entire box office. On the one hand, ‘Mahavatar Narasimha’ came, which was built for just 40 crores, earned 249.2 crore in India and worldwide 324.9 crores.
• On the other hand, even this small budget film ‘Su from So’ came, which was made in just 3 crores. It did a business of 90.68 crores in India and Rs 121 crore worldwide.

Add the worldwide collection of these 10 films, it reaches Rs 2797.03 crore i.e. a little away from Rs 3000 crore.

Both ‘War 2’ and ‘Coolie’ were released one day. The biggest clash of the year was seen due to both films released a day before the occasion of Independence Day. In one film, when many well-known stars including Hrithik Roshan and Junior NTR, Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan-Nagarjuna came face to face, it came to be seen as ‘War 2’ vs ‘Coolie’.

The budget of both films is also high. Spy Universe’s film ‘War 2’ has been made 450 crores and ‘Coolie’ has been made for 375 crores. According to this, both of them cannot be said to be a hit until they earn double the budget. Even though they have not yet received the tag of the hit, both films have set a wonderful record in their respective places.

Which amazing records of ‘War 2’ and ‘Coolie’

Among the hundreds of Indian films released this year, both these films have made it to the top 5. Even though ‘War 2’, has lagged behind ‘Coolie’, but both films have definitely left many films of this year behind.

• ‘Coolie’ has so far done a business of Rs 244.94 crore in India till the time of writing the story and has come at number three in the list after ‘Chhava’ (601.54 crore) and ‘Saira’ (326.15 crore).
• Now talking about ‘War 2’, it is at number five in this list by earning 214.73 crores. There are ‘Chhava’ (601.54 crore), ‘Saira’ (326.15 crore), ‘Coolie’ (244.94 crore), ‘Mahavatar Narasimha’ (224.55 crore).

Both films have also earned so much worldwide

‘Coolie’ has done business of Rs 447.5 crore in worldwide 9 days and ‘War 2’ has done a business of Rs 320 crore. That is, both films have collected 767.50 crores together. That is, both films may not have benefited differently, but the theater owners have definitely benefited from them in the last 10 days.
