I felt that I could do better, but I was not getting similar films and opportunities. There were many such roles for which even after getting very close, they were given to star kids. This was something which was not under my control.

He further said, ‘When you do not come from a film background, you are always afraid whether you will get further work or not. I moved forward slowly, took risks and took decisions thoughtfully. Kriti said, ‘There were periods in my career when I was very confused. I could not understand what was right and what was wrong. I signed some films which did not prove beneficial for me. He said, ‘Even today, male artistes are given more importance in the industry and women have to work hard to achieve equality. Kriti further said, ‘Many times when the budget of a film is reduced, the fees of the female lead are cut first. Apart from this, the difference between male and female artists is clearly visible in the respect and facilities received on the set. Patriarchy still exists in the industry.
