Nalin Prabhat, the head of Jammu and Kashmir Police, went and inspected the campaign site and took stock of the situation. At the same time, Army Northern Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma also reviewed the security system and anti -terrorism system in South Kashmir. He praised the jawans’ encouragement and way of working.

Soldier injured during encounter

According to officials, 3 soldiers have been injured in the encounter on Thursday morning, while so far a total of 7 soldiers have been injured in this campaign. Security forces are using all modern techniques including drones and helicopters to find terrorists.

Two terrorists killed

The encounter started when the security forces received special intelligence information about the presence of terrorists in the Akhl forest area of South Kashmir. After this, a search operation started by siege.

Firing started between the two sides on Friday, but firing was stopped at night. The encounter started again on Saturday in which two terrorists were killed. Their group and identity have not been ascertained yet.

Security forces have tightened the siege and additional jawans have been deployed so that the operation was successful. Along with Police Chief Nalin Prabhat, Deputy Inspector General of Police Kashmir VK Birdi and other senior officers are also present in Kulgam. He inquired about the ongoing campaign, strategies and deployment of soldiers on the spot.

Army Commander Northern Command Lt Gen Pratik Sharma appreciated the hard work and patience of the soldiers on Twitter (now X), saying that their commitment is strengthening peace and security in the area. He thanked all the soldiers that they are working with full force while playing their duty.

The longest campaign in Kashmir Valley

This campaign is the longest anti -terrorism campaign in Kashmir Valley so far this year. In Kulgam, security forces are constantly working hard to catch terrorists and make the area safe.

Officials say that security forces are engaged in finding terrorists using drones, helicopters and other techniques in a difficult area. The encounter continues and the soldiers have been instructed to be vigilant.

A major road accident occurred during the Amarnath Yatra in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to the information, 3 buses filled with pilgrims collided near Khudwani area on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, in which more than 10 passengers were injured.

The accident occurred when the convoy of pilgrims going towards Baltal reached the Tachlu crossing. The injured were immediately rushed to the nearest hospital, where several passengers were referred to the Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag after first aid.

Doctors told- The condition stable the condition for the injured
According to doctors, most of the injured have suffered minor injuries and their condition is stable. A doctor at Kimoh Hospital said that nine pilgrims have been sent for further investigation and formalities in GMC Anantnag after first aid. After the accident, the administration and security agencies started relief and rescue operations rapidly in the area, which could help a large number of passengers on time.

Amarnath Yatra continues with full enthusiasm

Amidst this accident, the Amarnath Yatra continues with full enthusiasm. The yatra started on 3 July and so far more than 1.82 lakh devotees have visited the holy cave. On Sunday, another batch from Jammu left for Kashmir amid tight security in two convoys of 7,049 passengers. There is a huge crowd of pilgrims towards both Baltal and Nunwan (Pahalgam) base camps. Also, the Bhoomi Pujan of Mubarak (the holy mace of Lord Shiva) climbed in Pahalgam was also done, which will reach the Amarnath cave on 9 August.

Security link after Pahalgam attack, ‘Operation Shiva 2025’ released

Special arrangements have been made this year to protect the journey. Security agencies are highly cautious after the terrorist attack in Baisran in Pahalgam in April 2024. The army has deployed more than 8,500 soldiers under ‘Operation Shiva 2025’. A multi-level security enclosure has been prepared including drone monitoring, electronic warfare system, counter-drain technology, medical facilities and bomb disposable squads. Companies of 180 additional central security forces have also been deployed. The 38 -day journey will conclude on 9 August on the day of Rakshabandhan and Shravan Purnima.

Devotees reach the cave from two routes- traditional Pahalgam Marg (46 km) and Chhota Baltal route (14 km). Helicopter services are closed this year due to security reasons. The ice-made Shivling located in the holy cave of Amarnath decreases every year with the shape of the moon and in Hinduism it is considered a symbol of the immortal mystery of Lord Shiva.
