How much have cancer cases increased compared to before?

The Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study details 47 types of cancer and 44 risk factors in 204 countries and territories. Also, this report shows that till the year 1990, the cases of cancer in the country were very less. But it has seen an increase with time. Most deaths among cancer patients are due to lung cancer and colorectal cancer. By the year 2023, deaths due to cancer have increased by 74 percent and now this number has reached 1.04 crores.
