When we use the Internet, we often feel that the whole world is open on our screen. We can search anything on Google with one click and scroll on social media, so it seems that all the information is in our fist. Although the reality is different from this. On the Internet or Google, we see only what our language and algorithms want to show us.

Whatever we think, search in the same way

Actually, the Internet is a place that everyone uses, but every person sees it from a different perspective. In the language where we think of anything, we search on Google in the same language and on social media we see that thing in the same style. This is the reason that if you use internet in Hindi or Tamil, then a completely different world opens in front of you. If someone uses English or Spanish internet, then he sees the picture of the Internet in a different style.

What role algorithm plays

Algorithms play an important role in these circumstances. They show and suggest us the same content that we can easily understand and in which we can be interested. In such a situation, we do not see a large part of the Internet. In other words, the language works as a filter for us, and a new face of the internet is hidden across the same filter, which we do not see.

How do people use internet

A research paper of Massachusetts Amharst University’s Digital Public Infrastructure Initiative has told this truth. It said that the way of using the Internet in different cultures and languages is very different. For example, social media in Western countries means reaching more and more people, increasing likes and followers, but in other cultures the Internet is also used to create small and close relationships.

Our perceptions about internet

This is the difference that makes people think how limited our beliefs about the Internet are. We just assume that Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or Google must be working everywhere in a way, but in reality they are used completely differently in different countries, such as music, literature and food are different in every culture, similarly the world of internet is also different.

There will be many people around you who will abuse on the matter. Even though their purpose is not to humiliate anyone, but this makes their thinking and behavior clear. The abuse, which is considered a derogatory word, has now been included in the practical language of the people that even if not wanting, the abuse of the mother-sister and daughter’s name comes out of the mouth.

The surprising thing is that not only men, but college girls and women are also included in large numbers.
