Delhi Health Report: Delhi government has recently released a report. The name of this report is “Delhi State Indicator Framework: Status Report 2025”, which has been prepared by the government to monitor Delhi’s progress till the year 2030 towards the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. The aim of the government is that with the help of this report the policy makers can know in which areas there has been improvement and where work still needs to be done.

Mortality rate of newborns decreased, that of mothers increased

According to the report, there has been an improvement in the neonatal mortality rate in Delhi. In 2015, the neonatal mortality rate in Delhi was 15.8 per 1000 children, which has come down to 14.1 in 2024. However, on the other hand, the maternal mortality rate figures are worrying. In the year 2015, there were 37 women deaths for every one lakh live births, which has now increased to 44. This increase has happened when the number of women giving birth under the supervision of doctors in hospitals and health centers has increased from 84.4 percent in 2015 to 96.1 percent in 2024.

Apart from health, the report also talks about improvements in the fields of education, poverty and employment. Electricity and digital facilities have now reached almost all the schools in Delhi, while the number of students taking admission in higher education has also increased. However, data related to child nutrition has been mixed, because the long-standing problem of malnutrition has reduced, but there has been no significant change in the number of underweight children.

Also read: Gen Z vs Millennials: Is Gen Z more fit and healthy than Millennials? Shocking revelation in new report

Improvement on environmental front also

Delhi has also done some good work in the field of environment. For example, waste management has improved and now more waste is being disposed of properly than ever before. Besides, air pollution has also reduced slightly as compared to ten years ago, although it still remains much higher than the prescribed standards. Along with this, the number of electric vehicles in Delhi has also increased rapidly, which was only 24 thousand 420 in 2015-16 and has now increased to more than 4 lakh in 2024-25. An official said that overall Delhi has made good progress in many social and environmental areas, but maternal and neonatal mortality figures show that the health of mothers and children still needs more attention.

For many families of Delhi, this time Holi and Eid have brought not just festivals but the happiness of the safe return of their loved ones. Amidst the increasing tension in West Asia, the people who were stranded there are now slowly returning to India. For several days the family members kept checking on their well-being over the phone and remained worried. The movement of passengers coming from Dubai, Oman and Abu Dhabi resumed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday (3 March 2026). Many returning passengers said that the situation there was tense, but not scary or dangerous. According to him, most things were going on normally. The family members sitting in India were more worried, who were continuously watching the news.

According to TOI report, 30-year-old Anshika, a resident of Gurugram, was waiting for her husband, who was stuck in Dubai. Both of them were married on 14 February. Her husband had left for London on 28 February, but when the situation worsened, he returned to Delhi via Oman. Anshika said smilingly, ‘This is our first Holi after marriage. There is no greater happiness for me than that they returned home safely. She told that every hour her husband used to call and tell her that the alarms were ringing and emergency alerts were being issued.

How is the situation at Delhi Airport?

Operations at Delhi Airport remained affected for the fourth consecutive day. At least 80 flights to and from Delhi were canceled on Tuesday, including 36 departures and 44 arrivals. More than 200 flights were delayed. 104 flights were canceled on Sunday and 87 on Monday. The Immigration Bureau issued more than 300 temporary entry permits to allow stranded international travelers to exit. To handle the crowd, two additional information counters were created at the airport and quick reaction teams were deployed.

People shared their experiences

Saket real estate businessman Akash Saxena returned from Dubai via Oman. He told that the atmosphere was tense but there was no chaos. He said, ‘For the first time when I heard the sound of the missile being stopped, I felt scared. I was talking to my mother on the phone at that time. Although he also said that the arrangements made by the government there were fine, but returning home felt safer. Deepa from Noida had gone to visit Dubai. He said that initially people were a little scared and the family members in India were more worried. “We didn’t know whether our flight would take off or not. But now we are relieved to return home.” 65-year-old Neeta had gone to Abu Dhabi with her daughter. He told that seeing the situation worsening, he decided not to stop.

Delhi Police has arrested a person near the Red Fort, who used to cheat people in the name of providing them jobs. This person has come from Kashmir and a fake ID card of NIA has also been found from him. That is, he used to cheat unemployed people by pretending to be an NIA officer.

Police investigation revealed that the accused used to deceive people by pretending to be an NIA officer and extort huge amounts of money from them. A fake ID card has also been found from him, by showing which he used to assure people that he was posted in a big agency.

Police found two people sitting in the car

Actually, on 18 February 2026, the police team of Kotwali police station was patrolling the area. Meanwhile, a black Hyundai Santro car (number JK01L9913) was seen parked in a suspicious condition near Delhi Chalo Park behind the Red Fort. When the police searched the car, they found two people sitting in it.

Showed fake card to police

One of these two people was identified as Mudassar, a resident of Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, while the other was a minor boy. During interrogation, Mudassar showed an identity card claiming himself to be an officer associated with NIA, but the card itself looked suspicious. The police brought both of them to the police station and started intensive interrogation.

Investigation revealed that the accused is a resident of Jammu and Kashmir and used to take money from economically weaker families by luring them with jobs. He used to say that he has access to the top in Delhi and he can get a government or private job.

The accused was cheating a minor sitting in the car

According to the police, the accused had assured the family of the minor boy that he would get a good job in Delhi. In return he also took advance money.

The accused had brought the minor from Kashmir

Police investigation revealed that the accused left Kashmir on 12th February with the minor boy and reached Delhi on the night of 13th February. Both people stayed in a guest house in Jama Masjid area. The accused claimed that he had contacted some people in Delhi, but he could not show any concrete evidence or documents.

Considering the sensitivity of the matter, joint inquiry was conducted with the Special Cell, Intelligence Bureau and the concerned central agency. During the joint interrogation, it became clear that the accused was posing as an officer by making fake ID cards and was cheating the common people.

Case registered under fraud sections

It also became clear that the NIA card he was showing was not any such identity card issued by the agency. Police have registered a case under sections of fraud.

At present, the interrogation of the accused is going on and the police is also investigating how many people he has cheated in this way so far and is there anyone else involved with him?
