Tesla CEO Musk has once again warned the world that if we do not take precautions, AI can become the death knell for human civilization in the future. Interestingly, Musk has given this warning not anywhere else, but inside a court.

Actually, a legal war has started between Musk and Open-AI. Musk has filed a lawsuit against Open-AI and its CEO Sam Altman. He alleges that the company which he started for the ‘good of humanity’ has now become just a profit making machine.

I have been speaking about the dangers of AI for years – Musk

In the courtroom, Musk reiterated his old concerns, saying that he has been speaking about the dangers of AI for years. He also narrated an interesting anecdote. According to Elon Musk, when he talked to Google co-founder Larry Page about AI safety in 2015, Larry called him a ‘specialist’.

Musk says that Larry Page believed that AI would create a ‘utopia’ i.e. a paradise-like world, but Musk feared that it could wipe out the entire human race. Musk gave the example of two Hollywood films in the court. He said that we do not want a future like ‘Terminator’, but we want a world of hope like ‘Star Trek’.

AI will leave human intelligence behind – Musk

Musk warned that the day is not far when AI will leave human intelligence behind. In their view, the faster this technology is growing, the greater the danger it is posing. Musk alleges that Open-AI has betrayed its original mission and is just running after money in collaboration with Microsoft.
