PAM Disease: In recent times, a very dangerous disease has increased the concern in Kerala and now West Bengal. This disease is known as Primary Amoebic Meningoencephalitis (PAM), which is colloquially known as ‘brain eating amoeba’. Its cause is a parasite named Naegleria fowleri. It directly attacks the human brain and even after starting treatment, the chances of survival are very low.

How did the disease spread?

According to doctors, this parasite is often found in warm water ponds, rivers and lakes. When a person inhales water through the nose while bathing or swimming, then this amoeba reaches the brain and spreads the infection. This disease does not spread from one person to another, but only through water.

rapidly increasing cases

According to the data given in Parliament on Friday, the situation is very worrying. Union Minister of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav told the Lok Sabha that in 2025, 170 people in Kerala alone would be affected by the disease. Of these, 42 people have died.

This figure is shocking because till September there were a total of 500 cases worldwide, but in just one and a half years, more than 100 cases have been reported in Kerala. According to the minister, 2 cases, 2 deaths in 2023, 39 cases, 9 deaths in 2024 and 170 cases, 42 deaths in 2025. It is clear that this disease has spread rapidly this year.

government action

Considering the situation as serious, the Health Ministry has taken several steps.

NCDC of Kozhikode has done a detailed study on this disease.

ICMR and ICAR are investigating and monitoring it.

18 VRDL labs across the country are testing and monitoring this disease.

State governments have issued warnings asking people to remain alert.

The initial symptoms of Naegleria fowleri infection look like normal fever or cold and cough, so people often ignore it. But this mistake can prove costly. Are you dismissing it as a common disease? Be careful! Has a destructive ‘brain-eating amoeba’ made a home in your body? Therefore, be careful as soon as you see these symptoms.

Kerala News: On July 15, a heart -touching incident came to light on the Golden Valley Checkpost of Ponmudi in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, where forest officer Arun PR saved the life of a child who was unconscious due to an electric shock. The video of this incident has gone viral on social media and people are praising Arun PR’s humanity and immediate action everywhere.

Saved his life by giving CPR of monkey

Let me tell you that when the child was saved by giving CPR to the monkey, when he was released to his mother, the mother hugged him and took him to the forest, which won everyone’s heart. The incident took place on the Golden Valley Checkpost in Ponmudi area of Thiruvananthapuram. Ponmudi is a popular hill station, about 60 km from Thiruvananthapuram, known for its natural beauty. Watch the video of the incident.

Know what is the whole matter?

According to the information, there was a fight between a group of monkeys, during which a child monkey accidentally touched the electric wire. Due to electric shock, the child began to tremble and fell down and fainted. He was completely unconscious and was not reacting, causing the monkey’s position to look serious. But after Arun’s CPR, when the child came to the monkey senses, Arun left him in his natural habitat.

After the video went viral on social media, people have fiercely done the forest department officer Arun. People also say that the Kerala government should honor Arun PR. Some users have suggested that this action should be recognized at the national level.

Kerala dog attack news: A case has come up from the South Indian state of Kerala, knowing that your senses will be blown away. The case is of Malappuram district of the state. A month ago, a 6 -year -old girl was bitten by a stray dog a month ago. This girl died of rabies on Tuesday. The big thing is that after the dog bites, the girl was also vaccinated, despite this, the girl could not be saved.

Family sources have told the news agency PTI that a girl named Zia Puris, a native of Peruvallur, was attacked by a stray dog on 29 March. The attack on the girl took place when she went to buy sweets from a shop near her house. He said that the girl suffered a serious injury to her head, face and papers and she had been undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College Hospital in the neighboring Kozhikode district for several days.

Rabies confirmed on investigation

According to family sources, the girl died in the early hours of Tuesday. The girl’s father Puris said that soon after the dog was bitten by the dog, Jia was given rabies vaccine and related medicines at the Medical College Hospital. He said that after getting the vaccine, he was discharged, but after a few days he got fever and later on investigation, rabies was confirmed.

The father said that the girl was re -admitted and she was in the intensive medical unit (ICU) for the last few days. The doctors of the hospital said that due to deep injury to the girl’s head, the infection must have reached her mind, which would have reduced the vaccine.

What to do in a dog bites?

In the event of children being bitten by the dog, show him to a good doctor. Also, get the entire body checked up. It is possible that the wounds may also be placed in a place where you do not see.
