Punjab News: Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has released the practical exam schedule and detailed guidelines for the annual examinations to be held in February/March 2026. According to the letter issued from the board, practical examinations for classes 8th, 10th and 12th will be held from 2nd to 12th February.

Short video clips of the exam will be kept safe

Along with regular students, candidates from open school, compartment, re-appear and additional subjects will appear in these examinations. This year, the Board has taken an important decision: From the 2025-26 academic year, Computer Science practical examinations for class 12 will also be conducted by external examiners. These exams will be taken at students’ self-centres, and the question papers will be sent through an online link. During this time, the Computer Science practical exam for Class 10 will be taken at the school level, and examiners have been instructed to preserve short video clips of the exam so that they can be sent to the board if needed.

External examiners will be appointed for these subjects

The board will appoint external examiners for class 12 core subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Accountancy-2, Fundamentals of E-Business, Home Science, and Computer Applications. District Education Officer will replace the duties of computer lecturers/teachers of government and private schools with other schools. Practical examinations for the remaining subjects will be conducted using question papers prepared by the respective subject teachers at the school level. The Board has directed Group District Education Officers (GEOs), Group District Managers (regional offices) and Group School Heads across the state of Punjab to ensure strict compliance with these instructions.

He further said that students currently studying in class 8th and 10th in government, semi-government and private schools of Punjab are eligible for this examination. Successful candidates will be given admission in class 9th and 11th in the academic session 2026-27.

Registration will be done through online portal

Deputy District Education Officer, Secondary Education, Dr. Paramjit Singh Bhogal said that the registration process will be done through an online portal. It will be mandatory to give details of current class while filling the application. Students associated with Punjab School Education Board will enter their roll number and student ID online, which will automatically fill their data.

Students of other boards will have to enter their information themselves. After confirming the required details, the registration slip can be downloaded. Without OTP number, the application will be considered incomplete. Students and parents are requested to apply before the due date. Punjab News: Scholarship examinations are being conducted for class 8th and 10th students in Amritsar district of Punjab. District Education Officer (Secondary) Amritsar Rajesh Sharma said that these examinations will be conducted by the State Council of Educational Research and Training Punjab on January 4, 2026.

There will be a joint examination of NMMSS and PSTSE.

National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) and Punjab State Talent Search Examination (PSTSE) examinations will be held at various 17 examination centers in the district. The exam time has been scheduled from 10 am to 1 pm. During this period, there will be a combined examination of NMMSS and PSTSE for class 8 students, while only PSTSE scholarship examination will be conducted for class 10 students.

A total of 3086 students will participate in the examination

District Education Officer said that a total of 3086 students will appear in the combined examination of class 8th and 10th, while only 2956 students will appear in the PSTSE examination of class 10th.
