After which the High Court overturned the decision of the Family Court. The High Court said that a suspicious husband can make any married life hell. The High Court said that when a husband suspects his wife without any reason, keeps an eye on her activities, questions her honesty and interferes with her freedom, then it is a case of serious mental cruelty.

What does the law say?

Regarding this issue, the Kerala High Court, citing Section 10(1)(x) of the Divorce Act 1869, said that continuously doubting the wife and interfering in her personal freedom comes under mental cruelty. In such cases the wife can demand divorce. This decision was going to be considered an example for all those cases where doubt took the place of love and trust in the relationship. The Kerala High Court also made it clear that when trust in marriage prevails over doubt, the relationship loses its meaning.

If a man sends flirting messages to women, then a case can be registered against him for insulting the modesty of a woman under Section 79 of BNS. In this case earlier punishment was given under section 509 of IPC. Apart from this, according to Section 67 and 67A of the IT Act, sending obscene messages or photos to any girl after 11 pm at night will be considered a sexual harassment. Due to this, harshest punishment and fine can also be imposed on the accused.

For the last few years in the country, the demand for Law Education i.e. LLB has increased rapidly. Now not only youth, but also employed people want to study law. The reason is clear to start a new career as a lawyer after retirement. Many people have started studying LLB online while working, while some are preparing for it. But there is bad news for them.

Union Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has clearly stated in the Rajya Sabha that no institute in the country is allowed to study LLB online or in holidays. In such a situation, people who are studying online law with jobs will not be valid.

The Law Ministry also said that many government officials and professional people want to start advocacy after retirement. But if they take LLB degrees online or from holiday classes, then their legal expertise will be suspected.

The Law Ministry in its statement, citing the Bar Council of India (BCI), said that no university or institute has been allowed to study LLB online or part-time.

According to the BCI, LLB is not just a course to get a degree, but it prepares students to work in the justice system. Practical experience in this is as important as knowledge from books.

Why is LLB not possible online?

Union Minister Meghwal said in a written reply in Parliament that LLB studies are not possible online. He said that this study includes not only lectures and books, but also many other important activities-

• Moot court (practice of debate in fake court)
• Internship (Experience to work with lawyers and courts)
• Assignment and homework
• Exams and practical training

All these experiences are necessary to understand the nuances of the law and make students skilled in advocacy. But it is not possible to complete them through online medium.

Why is the strict rules important?

The government says that falling level of LLB’s education can be dangerous for the country’s justice system. If people adopt a shortcut only to get a degree, then they will not be able to get justice in the true sense and argue in court.
