West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026: There is a stir in the politics of West Bengal regarding SIR. The political temperature is rising every day in vote-oriented West Bengal. In this regard, CPIM State Secretary Mohammad Salim clarified his position in front of ABP Anand. He was asked, “The elections are almost here. You are also definitely making your strategy. You went with Congress in 2021. What is your stand with Congress this time?

Discussion in final stage – Mohammad Salim

In reply, Mohammad Salim said, “We have been discussing with the Left Front allies since the last puja. Four rounds of discussions have taken place. Now it is in the final stage. Because before talking to anyone else, one has to put one’s own house in order. First CPIM, then the Left Front. As per the decision of the Left Front, we are discussing with the Left parties outside the Left Front. The discussions have not been completed yet, because these discussions are in my hands. I am not doing it.

He further said, “We have spoken to CPIML Liberation. He agrees that he will not remain in the Left Front. Will support us as an ally of the Left Front, together we will fight to defeat BJP-Trinamool. The final decision on the seat will be made the day we sit.”

ISF also agreed to come along – Mohammad Salim

Salim says, “Among those outside the Left, we have talked to the ISF. They have also agreed in principle that they will fight only with the Leftists. They have also been told that there will be no condition as to who else will come or not. Just as we have told the Left Front allies, ISF has also been told the same.”

He further said, “Congress has sent some files to Trinamool. If a compromise can be reached by giving some seats, they are repeatedly saying that first the stand has to be made politically clear. To make a compromise with the Left Front, first the politics has to be made clear. That politics will be anti-BJP-Trinamool. It will be anti-communal-imperialist and in favor of hardworking people.”

Salim said, “We have not bowed our heads before Trinamool, we respect those Congress workers.” Who have suffered a lot of greed, allurement, beatings, lathicharge, jail, fines, like CPIM. He did not join Trinamool, that respect has to be given. If Congress has business or commercial or political relations with the Trinamool leadership, why would this be collateral damage for it?”

West Bengal Politics: The stir has once again intensified in the politics of West Bengal. Humayun Kabir, who separated from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s party Trinamool Congress (TMC) and formed Janata Unnayan Party (JUP), has announced to form a third front in the state. For this, he has invited the Left parties, Congress, ISF and Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM to come together.

Former TMC MLA and Janata Unnayan Party chief Humayun Kabir has said about the alliance with AIMIM that wait till February 15, after that everything will become clear.

‘Bengal now needs a third political option’
Humayun Kabir says that there is a need for a new and strong third option in Bengal politics. Speaking to NDTV, he said, “I have invited the Left, Congress, ISF and AIMIM. We have to be in the same boat against TMC. Many people are ready to come with us. The picture is still out.”

However, Left Front, Congress and ISF are currently maintaining distance from Humayun Kabir’s rally and initiative. According to sources, talks are going on between these parties and JUP, but no formal decision has been taken yet. Meanwhile, Humayun Kabir has also recently met Left Front Chairman Mohammad Salim in Kolkata.

The doors of the alliance will remain open till 15 February
According to sources associated with JUP, Humayun Kabir has decided to keep the doors of the alliance open till 15 February. He says that any party that wants to fight against both BJP and TMC can come on this platform. Meanwhile, the reconstruction of Babri Masjid in Beldanga is also to begin on February 11, where Quran will be recited by about 5000 people. Humayun Kabir is considering this as a big step towards strengthening his political and social hold.
