Asaram is serving life imprisonment in a serious case of sexual harassment. After the completion of the temporary bail period on medical grounds, now Jodhpur has returned to Central Jail.

According to jail sources, Asaram was brought directly to jail after being discharged from the hospital. A health test was conducted before entering here and a team of doctors conducted a detailed examination of their medical records. The jail administration said that it was shifted to the barrack only after completing all the formalities.

Why was medical bail received?

Asaram was released on temporary bail some time ago due to health reasons. During this time he was admitted to the hospital and under the supervision of specialist doctors. After the completion of the bail period, he was again produced in jail on the court’s order.

In which cases were punished

Significantly, Asaram was convicted by the Poxo court of Jodhpur in a sexual harassment of a minor girl in 2018. The court sentenced him to life imprisonment. This is the case of 2013, when the victim accused Asaram of sexual abuse in the ashram.

Medical examination under supervision of CCTV

Special arrangements have been made for the safety of Asaram in Jodhpur Central Jail. Jail officials said that CCTV is monitored for 24 hours in their barracks and regular medical examination is also done in view of health status.

His lawyer met Asaram on returning to jail

After the news of Asaram returning to jail, his followers reached Jodhpur. However, the jail administration did not allow him to enter the jail premises. Only authorized lawyers and police officers were able to meet.

At the same time, legal experts say that Asaram’s team can turn to the court again for bail in future. At present, the court has ordered to be kept under the medical facilities available in the jail. Asaram’s return to jail has once again brought this famous case to the headlines, which reveals the debate between religious faith and law across the country.

We talked to Advocate Shashank Dev about this. He said that Section-152 is the most serious in the FIR lodged against Neha Singh Rathore. However, it is not a stream of treason, but it is similar to that. It can have maximum life imprisonment or a sentence of 7 years. Apart from this, the rest of the sections that have been imposed can be sentenced to 3-5 years.

He said that earlier the 124-A stream, spreading hatred against the government and provoking people was considered treason, but now the new law that the government has enacted, the sovereignty, unity and integrity of the country has been added. The punishment has been kept the same in both.

Neha Singh Rathore had strongly criticized the Modi government for the Pahalgam terror attack by posting a video on X. He had said that the Pahalgam attack took place due to the government’s lapse. He had alleged that the BJP would use this issue to get votes in the Bihar assembly elections.

Based on this video of Neha Singh Rathore, a person named Abhay Singh lodged an FIR in Lucknow. A total of 11 sections of BNS have been imposed in it.
