According to this, living donors can only be close relatives such as parents, siblings, children, spouse. Apart from these, if someone donates a liver, he needs permission. Before taking liver, patients are first examined. The patient’s blood test, imaging, liver function test and full body examination are done. Surgery is done to transplant the liver, in which a part of the liver is removed from the donor and transplanted into the patient.

The surgery may last 8 to 12 hours and requires monitoring in the ICU. After this, the donor can usually return to normal life in 10 to 15 days and the patient needs medicines and regular check-ups for 3 to 6 months. If we talk about how much money is required for this, it varies depending on the place. For example, its normal fee ranges between Rs 12 to 21 lakh and it can also increase.
