There is great news for the youth preparing for jobs in government banks. Now a golden opportunity is in front for those who dream of making a career in the banking sector. Punjab & Sind Bank, which is counted among the top banks of the country, has announced recruitment for the posts of Local Bank Officer (LBO). Under this recruitment drive, a total of 1000 posts will be filled. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of the bank Punjab & Sind Bank.

The last date to apply online for this recruitment has been fixed as 20 April 2026. Therefore, candidates have been advised not to wait for the last date and complete the application in time.

Qualification and age limit

Candidates applying for these posts must have a bachelor’s degree from a university recognized by the Government of India. Talking about age limit, the age of the candidate should be between 20 to 30 years. The candidate should not be born before 2 March 1996 and after 1 March 2006.

How will the selection process happen?

The selection process will be completed in several stages, so that proper selection of eligible candidates can be done. It includes written examination, screening, personal interview, final merit list, knowledge of local language and final selection. A total of 120 questions will be asked in the written examination, which will be of 120 marks. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours. Only the candidates who perform well in this examination will be able to reach the next stage. Minimum qualifying marks have also been fixed. Unreserved (General) and EWS category candidates are required to score at least 40 percent marks in each section. Whereas for reserved category candidates this limit has been kept at 35 percent.

Application fee information

Candidates will also have to deposit the fee while applying. The fee for SC/ST/PWD category is Rs.100 + tax + payment charges. Whereas for General, EWS and OBC category the fee is Rs 850 + tax + payment charge. Payment of fee will be accepted only through online mode. Payment through cash, cheque, money order or postal stamp will not be accepted.
