The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress are the two biggest parties in India’s politics, which are running their governments in the states of the country in collaboration with the parties involved in the NDA and India alliance respectively. In 2024 last year, BJP -led NDA formed its government in the country by winning a majority. Meanwhile, a survey has come, in which if Lok Sabha elections are held at this time, then shocking figures have come out on the question of whose government will be formed.

According to the survey, if the Lok Sabha elections are held today, then the NDA performance in it is likely to be very strong and the NDA is expected to get 324 seats in the election. On the other hand, the Congress -led India alliance may be shocked. In 2024, where he gave a tough challenge to the NDA by winning 234 seats. On the other hand, if elections are held today, then India alliance can remain reduced to 208 seats.

BJP got a shock in 2024

According to the survey of India Today-C voter, this report has come out after a total of 2,06,826 people in all the Lok Sabha constituencies of the country. Despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP suffered a shock when the party won only 240 seats out of a total of 543, which was 32 less than the 272 seats required for the majority.

NDA government formed in 2024

However, the total number of alliances reached 293 seats in collaboration with the parties involved in the NDA. After getting the majority to the NDA, BJP was successful in forming the government for the third time under the leadership of Narendra Modi.

In the Lok Sabha BJP Competition to Congress, Congress lost in assembly

At the same time, the opposition India alliance gave a tough fight to NDA in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The opposition coalition made it difficult for the BJP to bring a majority alone by winning a total of 234 seats in the election. But after this, when the assembly took place in many states of the country, the fate of India alliance took a turn and the India alliance faced defeat in the assembly elections in Haryana, Maharashtra and Delhi.

According to party-wise data, what will be the situation of BJP-Congress,

However, if the party -wise figures were seen, then if there were general elections, then the BJP could win 260 seats, but still he would have left behind by reaching a majority on its own. While the Congress is expected to get 97 seats. If you talk about the vote share, then the vote share of NDA can reach 46.7 percent against the 44 percent of 2024, while the survey has predicted the vote share of India coalition to be 40.9 percent.

In a rape case convicted and on Saturday (August 2, 2025), the Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS) suspended leader and former MP Prajwal Revanna appealed for a lower punishment and claimed that he did nothing wrong.

Revanna said that moving rapidly in politics was his only mistake. A special court in Bengaluru will sentence on Saturday (August 2) after convicting him in one of the four cases of sexual exploitation and rape lodged against 34 -year -old Prajwal. When the court convicted sexual exploitation, the judge wept in the court on Saturday, appealing to the judge for less punishment.

What did former JDS MP say to judge in court,

The suspended leader of JD (s) told the court that he had graduated in mechanical engineering and has always passed on merit. The former MP said, “… They say that I have raped many women, but no woman has voluntarily come to complain, she came six days before the election (Lok Sabha elections last year). The prosecution brought them deliberately and lodged a complaint.”

Prajwal said, “The woman (the victim) did not complain to anyone, including her husband or relatives, about the alleged rape. When some videos broadcast, she came and lodged a complaint. I have a family, I have not seen my parents for six months. Please give me less punishment, I request the court.”

The court can sentence former MP today

Prajwal, who was arrested when he came from Germany in May last year, said, “I have made only the mistake in my life that I moved forward rapidly in politics.” At the same time, Judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat, a special court of MPs and MLAs, convicted 34 -year -old Prajwal on Friday (August 1, 2025) in one of the four cases of sexual exploitation and rape. The court can sentence the sentence on Saturday (August 2) on this matter.

What is the whole matter related to the covered Revanna,

The case is related to a 48 -year -old woman working as a assistant in the farm house of the Revanna family in Holenarsipura in Hassan district. In 2021, the woman was allegedly raped twice at the farm house and Revanna’s residence in Bangalore. The accused recorded this act in his mobile phone.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spent about Rs 1,494 crore during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which is 44.56 percent of the total expenditure. This information was given by Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) on Friday (June 20, 2025). ADR has analyzed the electoral expenses of 32 national and regional parties.

According to the ADR report, the Congress is at number two after the BJP with Rs 620 crore, which is 18.5 percent of the party’s total expenditure. These parties spent a total of Rs 3,352.81 crore between (March 16 to June 6, 2024) during the assembly elections held simultaneously in Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim.

National parties raised Rs 6,930.246 crore
The share of national parties in this expenditure was more than Rs 2,204 crore (65.75 percent). The report said that national parties raised Rs 6,930.246 crore (93.08 percent), while regional parties received Rs 515.32 crore (6.92 percent). This analysis is based on compulsory expenditure details, which political parties have to file within 90 days of the general election and within 75 days of the assembly elections. ADR said that there has been a lot of delay in filing the details.

According to the report, the Commission got the details of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) with a delay of 168 days, while the BJP got the details of 139 to 154 days late. According to the ADR, only the Congress submitted a consolidated report for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

How much did the parties spend on the election campaign through digital means?
According to the ADR report, the journey costs after this, which was Rs 795 crore. At the same time, the candidates spent Rs 402 crore as a lump sum payment. The parties spent Rs 132 crore on the election campaign through digital and spent Rs 28 crore on publishing the criminal background of their candidates.

These parties did not give details
Travel expenses were more on star campaigners. Out of Rs 795 crore, Rs 765 crore (96.22 percent) was spent on the party’s high-profile leaders’ visit, while only 30 crore rupees were spent on other leaders. While preparing the report, details of the expenses of 21 parties including the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Communist Party of India (CPI), Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Shiv Sena (Ubatha) were not available on the Election Commission website.

Expenditure details of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) Party, KC (M) were not available for the 2024 assembly elections held in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and Odisha. Meanwhile, two parties Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Kerala Congress (M) declared zero expenditure despite contesting elections.

ADR also mentioned that a total of 690 non-recognized political parties took part in the general election held last year. The ADR also appealed to the Election Commission to appoint an observer to monitor the expenses of political parties.

Mallikarjun kharge: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge called on the party’s district unit heads to unite with a long -term strategy to win elections in states on Thursday (March 27, 2025). He said that the ideology of the organization is strong, but it cannot be implemented in the country without power.

Addressing the meeting of the presidents of the District Congress Committees (DCC), Kharge said that in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the parties of the ‘India’ coalition fought unitedly against the BJP and its allies, making the BJP limited to 240 seats. He said that if the Congress got 20-30 seats, then an alternative government would have been formed. The meeting of DCC presidents is being held in different stages in three days. DCC chiefs of 13 states and three union territories attended today’s meeting.

‘Congress gives a big shock to BJP in Lok Sabha elections’

Kharge told DCC chiefs at the Congress headquarters ‘Indira Bhavan’, “Our ‘Save the Constitution’ campaign has highlighted the secret intent of BJP-RSS to change the Constitution. Today, BJP does not have a majority and is dependent on two component parties. A Prime Minister had egoistic claimed that he would win 400 seats, but we gave him a big blow.

The Congress President said, “The Congress party won about 100 seats. If we had worked hard, we could have secured 20-30 seats. By securing so much seat, an alternative government could have been formed in the country. If we had done this, we could have stopped the systematic attack on our independent institutions, democracy and constitution.

‘District President is not just the messenger but the commander of the party’

He said that the Congress fight against BJP and RSS is going on both inside and outside Parliament. The Congress chief said, “We should take this fight to the streets.” Emphasizing the importance of the role of the district presidents, Kharge said that he is not just messenger, but the commander of the Congress party, who is leading on the ground. He said in the presence of Rahul Gandhi and Congress organization general secretary KC Venugopal, “Therefore, Rahul Gandhi and I recognized the need for direct communication with you.”
