A heart-wrenching case is coming to light from Navi Mumbai. An incident that happened here in Tiger Point Valley of Lonavala has surprised everyone. A 19-year-old girl who had come from Mumbai for trekking died suddenly in Dukes Nose area. After hard work by drone, dog squad and Shivdurg rescue team, his body was taken out from the 390 feet deep ditch. This search and rescue operation was carried out while battling the dangerous valley, darkness and time.

Actually, on January 31, 2026, 19-year-old Shreya Pati came to Lonavala from Mumbai for trekking. She went trekking in the Dukes Nose area; But did not return home till evening. At night, relatives searched and interrogated in Lonavala. At that time it came to light that she had come to the area and had gone back.

Search operation with the help of dog squad and drone

On the morning of 1 February, relatives lodged a missing report of Shreya at Lonavala Rural Police Station. After this the police investigated and it became clear that the bag found in Tiger Point area belonged to Shreya. The rescue team was called for search operation at 11.30 am. Shivdurg rescue team reached the spot and started the search operation at 2.30 pm. The search was going on with the help of dog squad, police drone and later Lightning drone, when at 4.45 pm the girl’s body was found in a 390 feet deep ditch.

Body taken out in darkness, police engaged in further investigation

Despite darkness, the body was safely lifted up with the help of rope, stretcher and walkie-talkie in extremely difficult conditions. The body was handed over to the police at 9.30 pm. This entire search operation was successful because of the courage of the police administration and Shivdurg rescue team. Further investigation is being done by the police system.
