Like every year, this time too, big religious events like Shardiya Navratri and Ramlila have been celebrated in the capital Delhi. Tableau, Durga Puja Pandal and Ramlila stage have been decorated in every corner of the city. In such a situation, the biggest concern of the people organizing was that due to the ban of closing loudspeakers after 10 o’clock in the night, the programs remain incomplete or have to stop in the middle. But this time the Delhi government has taken a big decision, which will give a lot of relief to the organizers.

The Delhi government has extended the deadline for playing loudspeakers in Ramlila, Durga Puja, Dussehra and other cultural or religious programs from 10 am to 12 noon. However, this discount is not forever. This permission will remain valid only from September 22 to October 3, that is, loudspeakers can be played from 12 noon during this schedule. In such a situation, let us know what is its limit in which state besides Delhi.

What is the new rule?

Loudspeakers in Delhi will now be able to play till 12 pm. This exemption is given only during festivals i.e. there is no permanent rule. At the same time, the level of sound in residential areas should not be more than 45 decibels (DB). Apart from this, the organizers will have to get all the necessary permission from the single window system. Along with this, it will be necessary to finish the program on time.

Loudspeakers and sound control rules fall under noise pollution (Control and Act), 2000, which has been implemented under the Environment Act, 1986. Permission from the administration is necessary to play loudspeakers. There is a ban on playing loudspeakers from 10 am to 6 am. On any special occasion, the state government can give a maximum of 15 days discount in a year.

What is its limit in which state?

Delhi is not the only state which is making changes in this subject. Discussion on this subject is also intensified in other states. Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka have strictly implemented the rules. There are orders to close loudspeakers completely after 10 pm. In Maharashtra also, under the guidelines of the Supreme Court, strictness has been done to play loudspeakers at religious places. The maximum sound limit at night is 45 decibels and 55 decibels a day. Instructions have been given to remove loudspeakers without permission.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s government has taken a big decision to curb noise pollution in Maharashtra. A total of 3,367 loudspeakers have been removed from the places of worship across Maharashtra as part of a concrete effort to reduce the nois pollution. CM Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis himself is in the assembly.

Loudspeakers will not be applied again
The Mumbai Police alone has managed to remove 1,608 loudspeakers from the places of worship in Mumbai alone. CM Fadnavis said that this achievement has been achieved without any religious or communal tension. Now loudspeakers will not be installed at all religious places in Mumbai.

Along with this, CM Devendra Fadnavis has warned that local police station officials will be responsible for re -installation of loudspeakers without the permission of the officials.

Maharashtra Masjid LoudSpeaker Controversy: An important meeting was held at Mumbai’s Sahyadri Guest House today (June 25) at around 8:30 am under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. This meeting was focused on the dispute arising over loudspeakers on mosques. NCP leader Sana Malik, Nawab Malik, Zeeshan Siddiqui, Siddharth Kamble and SP MLA Abu Azmi along with DGP Rashmi Shukla and Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti also reached the meeting.

Police is forcibly removing loudspeakers- Muslim organization
Muslim organizations allege that in recent times the police are forcibly removing loudspeakers on mosques. He says that the High Court has set a limit of 45 to 56 decibels for the sound level, but the police is taking action to take off the speaker without any measurement or warning.

Organizations clarified that if a mosque violates the rules, the process of canceling notice or license should be adopted, but the action without inspection is unfair.

Abu Azmi accused BJP leader
Abu Azmi made serious allegations against BJP leader Kirit Somaiya about this issue. He said that Somaiya has started this campaign and he is pressurizing the police by going to Muslim -dominated areas, especially Govandi. Organizations claim that the local police is being forced to remove loudspeakers under the pressure of Somaiya. For this reason, Muslim representatives decided to talk directly with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

Muslim organizations believe that Ajit Pawar is the only leader in the Mahayuti government, which Muslim society has faith in. Pawar has been secular in cases like demolishing houses in Vishalgarh, killing a Muslim youth in Satara and Meera Road riots. Organizations hope that Ajit Pawar will take a fair stand on this issue and will curb the alleged arbitrariness of the police.
