Guidelines of oil companies and gas agencies
In fact, recently an advisory has been issued by oil companies (OMCs) and gas agencies for customers. In which it is written, ‘LPG cylinders issued to customers by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) are the property of the respective companies. These cylinders are given to customers against security deposit and should be used only by registered consumers.

Apart from this, it has been said in this notice to inform the customers that selling or transferring LPG cylinder from one person to another is also illegal. This means that the gas cylinder should remain with the person in whose name it is or to whom it belongs. Giving it to someone else will be considered illegal.

Listing on other platforms is prohibited
One of the rules of this guideline is that, listing or selling of LPG cylinder on any market or unrecognized platform is prohibited, and doing so may lead to legal action. Cylinders sold on such platforms may be fake and may pose a safety risk.

For PNG customers
Apart from this, customers who have taken Piped Natural Gas (PNG) are requested to surrender their LPG connections by visiting their respective gas distributors. On doing so their original security deposit amount will be returned.

With the arrival of these guidelines, now customers will have to be a little cautious and due to this, oil companies and gas agencies will also not face any problem in cylinder distribution.
