LPG Price Cut: The last month of the year, December, has started from today and on the very first day, crores of people of the country have received good news. Actually, from today the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder (cooking gas) is decreasing.

According to the latest data on the website of Indian Oil, the price of 19 kg cooking gas cylinder has been reduced by about Rs 10. In this sequence, from December 1, 2025, LPG prices in Delhi and Kolkata have been reduced by Rs 10 each, while in Mumbai and Chennai the price has been reduced by Rs 10.5. Let us take a look at the revised cylinder rates in different cities of the country:-

• Delhi- The price of commercial cylinder in the national capital Delhi has reduced from Rs 1,590.50 to Rs 1,580.50.
• Mumbai- The price in Mumbai has decreased from Rs 1,542 last month to Rs 1,531.50.
• Kolkata- Here too, the price of commercial cylinder has reduced by Rs 10 from last month’s Rs 1,694 to Rs 1,684.
• Chennai- Here the price of commercial cylinder has now reduced from Rs 1,750 to Rs 1,739.50.

Domestic LPG cylinder rates

There has been no change in the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder in India this month. According to the latest data of Indian Oil, a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder is available for Rs 853 in Delhi, while its price is Rs 852.50 in Mumbai and Rs 890.50 in Lucknow. LPG cylinders are available for Rs 879 in Kolkata and Rs 868.50 in Chennai.

How are LPG prices decided?

LPG prices change every month from fuel retailers. Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) generally adjust cooking gas prices on the 1st of every month.

In India, LPG prices are determined based on the ‘Import Parity Price’ (IPP) model, which includes international crude oil prices, dollar-to-rupee exchange rate, freight charges, insurance, custom duties and other taxes.

Additionally, the cost of transporting gas from the refinery and depot to different parts of the city or to remote areas varies, hence LPG prices also vary from state to state due to different tax and transportation costs. Generally, the cost of delivering gas is higher in hilly and remote areas, hence prices increase in those areas.

Commercial Lpg Cylinder Rate Cut: The price of commercial LPG cylinder has been cut in the country today i.e. August 2025. However, there has been no change in the prices of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder. That is, domestic consumers have not received any relief at the moment. From today, the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in the country has been cut by Rs 33.50.

Cut for second consecutive month

This is the second consecutive month, the rate of commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced. After this, its new rate in Delhi was Rs 1,631.50, while in Mumbai it is being sold about Rs 1,583. Whereas Kolkata has come to the new rate of commercial cylinders from Rs 1,735.50 from today and around 1,790.00 per cylinder in Chennai. Earlier in the month of July, the price of commercial 19 kg LPG cylinder was Rs 1665 in Delhi and Rs 1616.50 in Kolkata-Mumbai.

While the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder is currently Rs 853 in the national capital Delhi and Rs 852.50 in the financial capital Mumbai. Oil companies said in a statement issued on their behalf that this amendment in the prices of commercial cylinders will be applicable from August 1 across the country. After this, the hotel including restaurants, other commercial establishments has definitely got some relief due to the cut in the price of commercial cylinders.

Significantly, there has been no change in the prices of domestic gas since 8 April 2025. There is also relief for those who are completely dependent on it due to no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinder. Its price is reviewed by oil companies at the beginning of every month.

Interest rate on fixed deposit

From June 1, 2025, banks can change their interest rates on FD. At present, banks usually give a return between 6.5 percent to 7.5 percent on FD. Now the interest on FD may decrease on FD amid hopes of cutting RBI repo rate. By the way, many small banks have already reduced their interest rates on fixed deposits.

New cut-off time for mutual funds

According to market regulator SEBI, a new cut-off timing has been set for redemption in overnite and liquid mutual fund schemes since 1 June 2025. That is, cut-off time for both of them has been fixed separately. Now offline redemption requests will have to be submitted by 3 pm, while investors doing redemption in overnite schemes will be able to submit the redemption request by 7 pm.
