If you want to visit Jammu and Kashmir then there is good news for you. After security review in Jammu and Kashmir, it has been decided to reopen several closed tourist places from 29 September. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha himself has given this information.

LG Manoj Sinha said that the leading tourist spots of Kashmir and Jammu Division will be opened again to tourists. Let us know that these tourist spots were stopped precautionary after the Pahalgam terror attack.

Which sites will be opened?

The places that will be opened in Kashmir Division are Aru Valley, Rafting Point Yanner, Akkad Park, Postshaw Park and Command Post, Dagan Top, Ramban, Dhaggar area of Kathua, Shiva Cave (Salal) of Reasi. All these places will be opened in a phased manner from September 29. The Lieutenant Governor tweeted that this decision was taken after extensive review in the UHQ meeting with the security agencies and the district administration.

After a thorough security review and discussion in today’s uhq meeting, I’ve ordered reopening of more tourists in Kashmir and Jammu Divisions, which was tamporarily closed as priorial measures.

– Office of LG J&K (@Officeoflgjandk) September 26, 2025

Tourist spots closed after terrorist attack

After the killing of 26 tourists in the Pahalgam terror attack in the last months, tourism activities were banned in these areas due to security reasons. At that time, the administration had run a large -scale operation vermilion in which action was taken on terrorist bases in Pakistan and POK. In June, the administration started the process of reopening 16 tourist places, but some sensitive places were still closed.

Tourism and local economy promoted

With the opening of tourist destinations once again, the local economy is expected to get new energy in Kashmir and Jammu regions. Local business and hotel-restaurant industries were affected due to terrorist incidents and security restrictions. It is believed that this decision is not only relief for tourists but will also promote the employment and income of the local people.

Mehbooba mufti writes to lg manoj sinha: PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has written a letter to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha regarding the incident of terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. He has demanded the release of the youth detained after the Pahalgam incident in a letter written to LG. The PDP chief has questioned the arrest of innocent citizens and has also said that no democratic and responsible society can accept such behavior with its people.

Mehbooba Mufti said in a letter to LG Manoj Sinha, “I am writing to you at a time when the whole country is saddened by the tragic and cowardly terror attack in Pahalgam. This disgusting incident has been widely condemned across the country, especially by the people of Kashmir. In fact, we went a step further and called for a complete bandh, came out on the streets as a protest. “

PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti Wrote to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, seeking the release of youths who were detained in the aftermath of the pahalgam increasent pic.twitter.com/gargmwg4D4

– IANS (@ians_india) May 6, 2025

Kashmiris opposed terrorism- Mehbooba Mufti
He further said in the letter, “The incident marked an important and encouraging change for the first time, Kashmiris openly opposed terrorism and remained united with the nation during this crisis. Soon after the Pahalgam attack, they were local Kashmiri who came forward to help the injured, transported them to hospitals and donated blood. It did not as a favor but as a duty towards his fellow citizens. ”

More than 3000 arrests worrying- Mehbooba Mufti

The PDP chief further wrote, “However, the reaction of different security agencies then seems less and more like a focused and indiscriminate action.” More than 3,000 arrests and about 100 people have been detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA). These numbers are worrisome. These reflect not justice but a collective form of punishment.

This action is like a sense of revenge- Mehbooba Mufti

Mehbooba Mufti expressed concern in the letter, “This point of view not only the risk of isolating families and communities, but also the question arises that where will it take us all?” While we are all clearly in favor of justice, the action being taken in the present is like a sense of revenge. No democratic and responsible society can accept such behavior with its people or not.

‘People of Kashmir extended goodwill’s hand’

The former CM of Jammu and Kashmir also said in a letter to LG, “I have been saying for a long time that the people of Kashmir have extended the hand of goodwill but now the rest of the country should also answer in the same way. It is very disappointing that the actions of some terrorists are now determining how the security agencies will react to the situation.

Amarnath Yatra is also mentioned

In a letter to the Lieutenant Governor, he also mentioned the Amarnath Yatra. The PDP chief wrote, “As I get close to Shri Amarnath Yatra, I politely request you to intervene immediately to ensure the release of innocent people. Let the people of Kashmir breathe a sigh of relief and be ready to welcome the passengers with warmth and hospitality, for which they are known. ”
