There was a stir in a Lufthansa flight from America to Germany when a young man of Indian origin attacked two passengers in the flight with a metal barbed spoon. The attack was so violent that the crew had to declare an emergency and immediately divert the flight to Boston Logan Airport.

This incident occurred on October 25, 2025 in Lufthansa flight LH-431, which was going from Chicago to Frankfurt (Germany). A 28-year-old Indian youth named Praneet Kumar Usiripalli, who was on board the flight, suddenly became violent.

Passenger attacked 17 year old boys

While the passengers were resting after the meal service, he attacked a 17-year-old boy sitting nearby with a fork. The person attacked him directly near his shoulder. Not only this, he pricked the back of the head of another 17 year old boy sitting next to him. The other boy got a head injury and started bleeding. After the attack, when the crew members tried to catch the accused, he started doing more strange acts.

According to people present there, the accused made his hand ‘like a pistol’, put it in his mouth and made a gesture of pressing the trigger, then slapped the female passenger sitting next to him. The accused passenger also tried to raise his hand on a flight attendant. Seeing the situation going out of control, the flight was immediately diverted to Boston, where upon landing, the accused was arrested by the FBI and American police.

Who is the accused Praneet Usiripalli?

According to US investigative agencies, Praneet Kumar Usiripalli, age 28, is an Indian citizen. He came to America on a student visa and was recently enrolled in a Biblical Studies master’s program. At present he does not have legal visa status, which means he was living in America illegally. The American court has registered a case of assault with a dangerous weapon and attempt to cause serious injury against Usiripalli.

If the person is found guilty, he can be sentenced to up to 10 years in jail, 3 years of supervised release and a fine of up to Rs 2 crore. This case was jointly investigated by the FBI, Massachusetts Police, and Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE). The case will be heard in the Federal Court of Boston. Currently the accused has been kept in custody and the date of appearance in the court will be decided soon.

Lufthansa flight to hyderabad: On Sunday evening, a major aviation incident came to light when the flight number LH 752 coming from Frankfurt, Germany to Hyderabad, had to return from the middle way to get permission in India. The aircraft was about to land at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad in the early hours of Monday, but its route was changed a few hours after the flight and it returned to Germany again.

This flight of Lufthansa left from Frankfurt at 2:14 pm on Sunday afternoon (local time). But the flight tracking information revealed that its route was diverted a few hours later. The passengers were surprised when the aircraft suddenly changed direction and returned to Frankfurt Airport.

A female passenger coming to meet her mother from America said, “We have come back to Frankfurt about 15 minutes ago. We were just told that this flight was not allowed to land in Hyderabad.” The situation has not been officially clarified by Lufthansa Airlines regarding this whole incident, but according to media reports, the airlines only said that they were not allowed to land in Hyderabad, so the aircraft had to return.

Information was received of bomb threat
A spokesperson of the Frankfurt Airport confirmed that the flight number LH 752 had safely returned to Germany. At the same time, an official of Hyderabad Airport said that this decision was taken due to security reasons. According to the official, when the aircraft could not enter the Indian aircraft, then the bomb threat was reported. In terms of security, it was considered right to return the aircraft to Frankfurt.
