Flight weird incident: A shocking incident came to light in a flight by Germany’s well-known airlines company Lufthansa. Flight was going from Frankfurt, Germany to Seville, Spain. When the plane was at an altitude of about 36 thousand feet, at that time he kept flying in the sky without a pilot. This happened for about 10 minutes, not 1-2 minutes.

This incident took place on 17 February 2024. Lufthansa’s A321 flight’s cockpit was only present, which suddenly fainted. At that time there were 199 passengers and 6 crew members in the plane. This information has been given by the German news agency DPA quoting the report of Spain’s aviation accident investigating agency CIAACH.

When the co-pilot fainted, the captain went out of the cockpit to the washroom. Meanwhile, the entire aircraft was flying on autopylyt mode. Fortunately the autopylot system helped the aircraft to fly in a stable and controlled manner. However, the records recorded in the cockpit voice recorder were showing that the cockpit had a serious health emergency situation. An air hostess on the aircraft tried to talk to the co-pilot by calling in the cockpit, but did not get any reply.

Captain opened the door with emergency code

The captain of the plane used regular safety code five times to return to the cockpit, which could open the door inside and the pilot could open the door, but the co-pilot did not open the door due to being unconscious. Eventually the Captain used the emergency overred code, which would open the door automatically after a few seconds of delay.

However, before the door opens, the co-pilot got some senses and opened the door himself. He was in a very ill condition inside. After this, the captain, sensing the situation, decided to make an emergency landing in Madrid. Where the co-pilot was immediately admitted to the hospital.

Lufthansa conducted internal investigation, but did not disclose

According to the DPA report, Lufthansa is aware of the incident and its flight safety team has investigated on its behalf. However, the company has not made public the findings of this investigation. Aviation experts say that if the autopolyt was not active, the situation could have been even more serious. This phenomenon exposes the risks of cockpit operation in the sole presence of the co-pilot.

Pakistani airspace: There is an atmosphere of tension between India and Pakistan after the terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, many big international airlines like Lufthansa and Air France have now started using other routes avoiding Pakistani aircraft. This has been revealed in the flight tracking data revealed on Monday.

Action taken after Pahalgam attack

After the Pahalgam attack, India shut down its aircraft for Pakistan’s airlines companies and Pakistan also retaliated on it for aircraft of Indian airlines companies, but did not ban other international airlines.

Here, the Lufthansa Group has confirmed the news agency Reuters that it will not use Pakistani airspace indefinitely due to more time for Asian countries.

Pakistan’s overflight revenue deficit to Pakistan

The data of Flightradar24 shows that due to the new route, Lufthansa’s Frankfurt-to-Delhi flight (LH760) took an additional time to travel for one hour. This will not only take longer to travel, but will also have more fuel consumption, which will directly affect the airlines companies. This change will also harm Pakistan’s overflight revenue.

Pakistani airspace being bypassed

In addition, the flight tracking system showed that British Airways, Swiss International Air Lines and Emirates flights are changing their way through Delhi. After crossing the Arabian Sea, they are escaping from Pakistani aircraft and most of them are choosing the northern route to travel.

British Airways and Emirates have not yet publicly commented on the matter. However, Air France has officially announced the cancellation of its flights from Pakistani aircraft, citing rising regional instability.
