Ahmedabad plane crash: Air India flight AI-171, going from Ahmedabad to Gatvik Airport in London, crashed at Thursday afternoon. In this accident, the lives of all 242 people in the aircraft were in danger. These included 230 passengers, 10 crew members and 2 pilots. As the initial cause of the accident, experts have told bird hit (bird collision).

Both engines fell immediately after takeoff: Expert
Senior pilot Captain Saurabh Bhatnagar said in a conversation with NDTV that both engine failed due to bird hit. The takeoff was normal, but the aircraft began to fall down before the gear up, which happens only when the engine loses power or does not become a lift.

Pilot had reported the crisis by giving ‘Mayday’ call
Just before the accident, pilot Sumit Subbarwal gave a call ‘Me-Day’, which is an international emergency signal. This means that the pilot had realized the danger and immediately sought help. The footage suggests that the aircraft fell down in a controlled manner.

Birds were present in residential areas?
According to Aviation Expert Sanjay Lazarus, this area may be near the airport, due to the activity of birds. If many birds collide at the time of takeoff, the aircraft would not have achieved height. This can be a main reason behind the accident. Air India has issued helpline number 1800 5691 444 for the information of passengers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on X- “The tragedy in Ahmedabad has shocked and unhappy us. This is a heartbreaking phenomenon beyond words. My condolences in this sad hour are with all the people affected by it. I am in touch with ministers and officials who are working to help the affected people. ”
