IndiGo CEO Peter Albers also apologized for this, when more than a thousand flights were canceled on Friday, which was the “most affected day” in terms of cancellations. He also said that although the crisis will continue on Saturday, the airline expects less than 1,000 flights to be cancelled.

Peter Albers apologized for the great inconvenience caused by the delay and cancellation, saying that this situation had happened for several reasons. This crisis in IndiGo has come due to new rules, which have increased the weekly rest requirement of pilots from 12 hours to 48 hours. The new rules allow only two landings per night per week, down from six earlier. IndiGo has cited “miscalculation and lack of planning” as the reason for the large-scale cancellations.
