Talking to Nayandeep Rakshit, Madhuri told that her mother deeply influenced her personality. Madhuri said, “I think I got art from my mother. Love for singing, love for dance, she was very emotional, and I think I got these qualities from her only. I am also a very emotional person, I connect with people very quickly.”

He further said that discipline and honesty have also been inherited by him. He said, “My habit of working hard has come from my mother because she is the one who taught me the same. Her sense of humor was also much better than mine, she used to react very quickly. She had a deep sense of self-confidence, which she also taught me that you have to be who you are. Don’t fit into any mold. Break the mold.”

Recalling the early days of her career, Madhuri admitted that she often faced trolling about her looks. The actress said, “When I started, many people used to tell me to do this, how is your nose, your this, your that.” She told that at that time, she would go to her mother to seek solace. She said, “I used to go and say, ‘Mom, people are saying this,’ and my mother used to say, ‘Don’t worry. Once your film becomes successful, people will like this thing about you.’

Madhuri admitted that at that time she found it difficult to believe this. She said, “I used to say, ‘Mom, this won’t happen,’ and she would say, ‘Don’t worry. Do you trust me?’ I said yes, and he said, ‘Then let’s see what happens.’

Life changed after acid attack
Madhuri further told that her life had changed after the film Tezaab. She said, “After the acid attack, no one said anything about me being thin or anything else. People accepted me the way I was.” She said, “Even today I tell new actresses not to try to fit into a mold. Don’t think that a heroine should look like this. If you are different, that is your specialty. Enjoy it,” she said.
