Film maker Pahlaj Nihalani told that Madhuri Dixit refused many films to get success. It also included opportunities to work with his fellow new actor Govinda.

‘Then I got angry …’
In an interview to Pinkvilla, Nihalani recalled and said- ‘I cast Madhuri in a film with Govinda. Other manufacturers formed a group to keep Madhuri away. She kept choosing other films, so I cast Neelam in her place. But Madhuri’s films continued to stop. I offered her fire (1987) and the world of sin (1988), but she continued to refuse because she did not want to work with any new artist. Then I got angry.

Nihalani revealed on Rikku’s flop films
In the interview, he told that he had helped in making Rikku Rakesh Nath the secretary of Madhuri, who later became a filmmaker. Nihalani said that Rikku kept making excuses to retreat from his films, so he strictly punished him. The films that Rikku made after him was a flop, while all three films of Nihalani were super hit.

Nihalani told a film magazine that after his interview, Nath came to him “crying” and requested him to make a film with Madhuri. He said that if the film is not made, then at least a film of Madhuri’s film should be done by Clap Nihalani.

Nihalani told that all the deals were always handled by Rikku Nath, so Madhuri did not meet him directly. He remembered that initially Madhuri waited with her parents in her office for two days, but she was busy shooting. At that time he did not have any film that needs a heroine. He later called Madhuri and made Rikku her secretary.
