Rajya Sabha Election Result 2026: In the elections held for four Rajya Sabha seats from Karnataka, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has once again been elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha. Along with him, senior Congress leaders Pawan Kheda and Mansoor Ali Khan have also reached Rajya Sabha. All four candidates were declared elected unopposed.

Elections were announced for four Rajya Sabha seats in Karnataka as the tenure of the sitting MPs is ending on June 25. These include BJP’s Eranna Kadadi and Narayana Korgappa, Congress’s Mallikarjun Kharge and JD(S)’s former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda.

Five candidates had filed nominations

Initially, a total of five candidates had filed nominations for these four seats. The elections were to be held on June 18 and members of the Karnataka Assembly were to vote in Vidhana Soudha. But during the scrutiny of nomination papers, the nomination of an independent candidate was rejected. According to officials, after the last date of withdrawal of nominations ended on Thursday, only four candidates were left in the fray. After this, all four candidates were declared elected unopposed.

DK Shivkumar congratulated

Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar congratulated Mallikarjun Kharge, Pawan Kheda and Mansoor Ali Khan on being elected to the Rajya Sabha. He wrote on the social media platform

Pawan Kheda said- I will try to learn Kannada language

After being elected to Rajya Sabha, Pawan Kheda said that the Congress leadership has given him the opportunity to serve the people of Karnataka, which is a matter of pride for him. He said that he will try to live up to the expectations of the people. Pawan Kheda also said that next time he addresses the people, he will try to speak in Kannada language.

Mansoor Ali Khan expressed gratitude

Mansoor Ali Khan expressed gratitude to the party leadership for being sent to Rajya Sabha. He said that he has received the support of the party leadership at both the central and state levels. He assured that he will raise important issues related to Karnataka and the country in the Rajya Sabha and will raise his voice on issues of national interest. Mansoor Ali Khan is the son of former Union Minister and former Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Rehman Khan. He said that he will work for the interests of both Karnataka and the country.

BJP won all three Rajya Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh

Whereas in Madhya Pradesh, Bharatiya Janata Party has won all three Rajya Sabha seats unopposed. After the deadline for withdrawal of nominations ended on Thursday, BJP candidates Rajneesh Aggarwal, Tarun Chugh and Mahesh Kewat were declared victorious. Returning officer Arvind Sharma handed over election certificates to the three BJP candidates. Since there were no other candidates left in the fray, all three candidates were elected unopposed.

Congress candidate’s nomination was rejected

BJP’s victory was almost certain when the nomination papers of Congress’s lone candidate Meenakshi Natarajan were rejected on Tuesday. BJP leaders, including Mahesh Kewat, had lodged objections to her nomination. The BJP had alleged that Meenakshi Natarajan had hidden information about a case pending in a Hyderabad court in her election affidavit. After investigating the objection, the election officer accepted it as correct.

While announcing the decision, the returning officer said that Meenakshi Natarajan had submitted incomplete nomination papers and had also not informed about the court summons related to the rape case registered against a Congress leader in Telangana in 2022. On this basis, his nomination was cancelled, after which the path to victory of BJP candidates was cleared.

Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh met former Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Friday (September 12) amidst long -standing differences in Madhya Pradesh politics. Sharing a picture of both on social media ‘X’, he wrote that he and Kamal Nath had family and political relations for almost 50 years.

Digvijay Singh further said, “There have been ups and downs in his political life, which are natural. He also clarified that there may be minor differences, but there were never discrimination.”

Kamal Nath ji and I have almost 50 years of family relations. There have been ups and downs in our political life and they are also natural. All our political lives in the Congress, while fighting the fight for ideology, have been spent fighting and will continue to fight even further. There are small differences…

– Digvijaya Singh (@digviijaya_28) September 12, 2025

Digvijay Singh will work together under the leadership of Congress in public interest

Digvijay Singh wrote in his post that he met Kamal Nath yesterday and the two leaders resolved to work together under the leadership of the Congress in the public interest. He also said that the Congress always gave leadership opportunities to the two leaders and the love of the people was always received.

The meeting highlights the signs behind the political events that took place in March 2020. At that time, Kamal Nath’s Congress government had fallen and a deep tussle was born within the party.

The two leaders accused each other of responsibility for toppling the government. Now Digvijay Singh’s post indicates that the party is trying to present a new picture of solidarity by leaving behind the old controversies.

Was prepared by meeting at the house of big industrialist

Former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh made a big disclosure in the podcast interview up to MP on 23 August 2025. He spoke openly on the real reasons for the collapse of Kamal Nath government in the year 2020. Digvijay Singh clearly said that he and Jyotiraditya Scindia were accused that the government fell due to his mutual fight, but it was completely wrong.

He said that “It is probably written in my horoscope that the same allegations are made against me in which I am not guilty.” According to Digvijay, at that time it was the attempt of the Congress leadership to solve the ongoing tussle within the party. For this purpose, a meeting was held at the house of a big industrialist. Both Kamal Nath and Scindia attended that meeting. During the conversation, a ‘Vish List’ was prepared on the development of Gwalior-Chambal region and issues related to the MLAs there.

According to Digvijay Singh, this list was also signed and it was decided that the government would implement those demands, but later these points could not be implemented seriously. This was the situation that created a crisis for the Congress government. He said that if these demands were accepted at that time, the government could have survived.

Jyotiraditya Scindia broke the party for this reason

Significantly, in 2018, the Congress returned to power with a majority and Kamal Nath became the Chief Minister. But within just 15 months, Jyotiraditya Scindia broke the ties with the party and joined the BJP. After this, many Congress MLAs also went with him, due to which the Kamal Nath government came under minority and the government fell in March 2020.

Jyotiraditya scindia on rahul gandhi: Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday (June 5) for using the word that allegedly humiliated the disabled.

In fact, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, while addressing Congress workers in Bhopal on Tuesday (June 3), used words like ‘Race Horse’, ‘Horse of Baraat’ and ‘Langhed Horse’. He gave this example in the context of reviving the new life in the Madhya Pradesh unit of Congress.

At the same time, without naming Rahul Gandhi, Jyotiraditya Scindia retaliated and said that some people are using the language of ‘abusive’ instead of honoring the Prime Minister for such welcome changes.

‘They have special blessings of God’
Jyotiraditya Scindia, while answering the questions of journalists here, said, “I want to convince those who use abuses that our Prime Minister Narendra Modi changed the word ‘disabled’ and coined the word ‘Divyangjan’ for the Divyang. It means who has a special blessing of God.”

‘Use of indefinite language’
Scindia said that instead of honoring the disabled, they are using indecent language. Taking a dig at the Congress leader, he said that to what extent some people can go, it is unimaginable for us. Scindia questioned whether it is not an insult to the disabled?

Apart from this, Union Communications Minister Scindia also said that by giving licenses to institutions like Starlink, people of those areas will get mobile connectivity, where it is difficult to install towers and laying cables. He said, “Starlink satellite will lead connectivity. Earlier there used to be fixed line. Today there is mobile, broadband and optical fiber connectivity. Along with this satellite connectivity is also necessary, because in remote areas where wires and towers cannot reach, connectivity will be done only through satellite.”
