The former Chief Minister said that probably no government here is against private madrassas as a matter of policy, rather it is probably the result of the arbitrariness of officials at the district level that news of such unpleasant incidents keep coming, on which the government should take proper cognizance. It is necessary to stop such trend strictly.

Apart from this, the BSP supremo expressed concern on Tuesday over the reduction in the duration of sessions in the country’s Parliament and state assemblies and said that the government and the opposition should consider this very seriously. It should be considered that the proceedings of the Houses should be carried out peacefully as per the rules.

The BSP chief said, ‘With the decreasing time of the sessions of Parliament and State Legislatures in the country, along with their huge uproar and adjournment every time, the decreasing effect of their public utility has often been a matter of serious concern. During the three-day 86th All India Conference of Presiding Officers going on these days in Lucknow, it is appropriate, timely and commendable to express concern over the continuously decreasing time for the proceedings of the legislatures, on which both the government and the opposition should consider it very seriously.

The Indian Parliament and the state legislatures are important pillars of the country’s constitutional and democratic system and a powerful medium to keep the government/executive accountable to the country and public interest. It is very important that the proceedings of the Parliament and Legislatures should be conducted in peace and order as per the calendar and correct rules for at least 100 days in a year.
