Grand Alliance MLA from Saharsa and National President of Indian Inclusive Party, IP Gupta has given a big statement. On Sunday (December 14, 2025), he held a meeting with ambulance personnel (drivers) in the Covid ward of Model Hospital, Saharsa.

During the meeting, IP Gupta gave instructions to the ambulance personnel on the complaint received against them and said that injustice to poor patients will not be tolerated. Because the ambulance personnel coax the patient referred to the higher center and take him to a private hospital instead of the government hospital. Poor patients are exploited there. Family members even sell their land for the treatment of patients. Despite this, doctors in private hospitals are unable to save the patient’s life.

‘Have been born after consuming cyanide…’

IP Gupta said that the ambulance personnel should rectify such mistakes from now on, otherwise if even a single complaint is received from the patient, all the personnel of that ambulance including the referring doctor will not be spared. He said, “We were born by consuming cyanide… we are mad… we will make everyone mad.”

On the other hand, he also heard the problems of the ambulance workers. The personnel expressed their views against the arbitrariness of the ambulance operating agency. Said that the full amount is not given according to the amount of work they are required to do. If he complains about this to any senior officer of the agency, he is even threatened with removal. Makes you work for 12 hours instead of 8 hours. After hearing the entire problem of the ambulance personnel, the MLA talked about raising this issue in the Assembly.

Dozens of ambulance personnel including hospital in-charge CS Dr. Harishekhar Bharti, in-charge Deputy Superintendent Dr. Rajesh Kumar Ranjan, District Health Committee DPM Vinay Ranjan, hospital manager Simpi Kumari and personnel of ambulance operating agency Gen Plus were present in the meeting.

Former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Duvvuri Subbarao has expressed serious concern over the growing freebie culture i.e. free facilities and cash promises during elections in India. He said in one of his articles that even though elections can be won through these free schemes, it does not strengthen the future of the country. Subbarao said that ‘distributing borrowed money is easy, but it does not create a nation.’

Competition of promises in elections
Subbarao gave the example of Bihar assembly elections and said that the election campaign had turned into a ‘competition of populist promises’. He said that the NDA government sent Rs 10,000 to the accounts of about 1.2 crore women during the election campaign, while the opposition alliance made big promises – Rs 30,000 to every woman and a government job in every household. According to him, the atmosphere during the elections was such that the political parties had completely forgotten the limits of economic responsibility and budget.

Freebie destroys influence and trust
The former governor says that when every party announces free schemes during elections, their influence gradually disappears. People start understanding that these promises are limited to elections only and are not necessarily fulfilled. He said- ‘When promises exceed limits, people stop trusting.’

Many states are burdened with financial burden
According to Subbarao, after implementing the election promises, many states have now started understanding the real value of this model. He said that the expenditure on social schemes of Andhra Pradesh is much more than estimated. Telangana is already facing huge financial pressure. Even in Maharashtra and Karnataka, the budget for other development works is falling short. He said that when a large part of the budget is spent on cash transfers, freebies and subsidies, investment on education, health, employment and infrastructure reduces.

Giving freebie by borrowing is the most dangerous
Subbarao’s biggest warning was that governments are borrowing to complete these schemes. He said- ‘Today’s expenses are becoming a burden on people’s tomorrow. The money given today will have to be repaid by future generations.

Politics silent due to fear
The former governor says that no political party in India wants to oppose the freebie culture because they fear that they will be called ‘anti-poor’. He says that this is not the problem of just one party but the weakness of the entire political system.

Subbarao said that the free schemes are a way of acknowledging that the government has failed to provide employment, income and opportunities. He said, ‘It is easy to give money to people for today’s needs, but making them self-reliant is real development.’

The results of Bihar assembly elections were shocking. NDA got direct benefit on those seats where the Grand Alliance had fought a friendly fight, which is clearly visible in the results. There are 11 such seats in Bihar, where such a scene was seen. The victory on all these seats fell in the lap of NDA candidates.

The seats on which Grand Alliance had fought friendly include Rajapakad, Beldaur, Kahalgaon, Chainpur, Sultanganj, Sikandra, Narkatiaganj, Karhagar, Vaishali, Biharsharif, Bachhwara seats. There was competition between the candidates of the Grand Alliance, but the NDA took the advantage. NDA candidates won on all the seats. Due to this, MGB directly had to suffer the loss of these 11 seats.

JDU, BJP and HAM won seats

If we look at NDA’s allies, there are three seats where BJP won and Nitish Kumar’s JDU won on seven seats. Among these, JDU won Vaishali, Beldaur, Sultanganj, Kahalgaon, Rajapakad, Chainpur and Karhagar seats. By what margin did NDA candidates win which seat?

• Umaid Khan of Congress and Shiv Kumar Yadav of CPI were face to face in Bihar Sharif seat. BJP’s Sunil Kumar won this seat by a margin of 29168 votes.
• In Bachhwara, Shiv Prakash Garib Das of Congress and Avadhesh Rai of CPI were contesting. BJP candidate Mehta won the election on this seat by a margin of 15841 votes.
• Congress candidate Shashwat Kedar was contesting from Narkatiaganj assembly seat and Deepak Yadav was contesting from RJD. Here BJP’s Sanjay Kumar won the election. He won this election by a margin of 26458 votes.
• Sikandra seat, which has been a safe seat. RJD’s Uday Narayan Chaudhary and Congress candidate Vinod Chaudhary were contesting on that election. Prafull Kumar Manjhi won the election on this seat by 23907 votes.
• RJD and Congress candidates were face to face on Vaishali seat. JDU’s Siddharth Patel won this seat. He won by a margin of 32590 votes. He defeated RJD’s Ajaykumar. Congress candidate Sanjeev Singh stood third.
• Mohit Paswan from Communist Party of Grand Alliance and Pratima Kumari from Congress were contesting from Rajapakad seat. JDU’s Mahendra Ram won this seat by a margin of 48,189 votes.
• On Beldaur seat, Mithilesh Kumar Nishad of Congress from Grand Alliance and Tanisha Bharti of Indian Inclusive Party were face to face. JDU’s Panna Singh Patel won the election on this seat. He won this election by 35175 votes.
• Congress’s Praveen Kumar Kushwaha and RJD’s Rajneesh Bharti were contesting in Kahalgaon. JDU’s Subhanand Mukesh won the election on this seat. He won this election by a margin of 50112 votes.
• On Sultanganj seat, election was held between Lalan Kumar of Congress and Chandan Sinha of RJD. In this, JDU MLA Lalit Narayan Mandal won the election by a margin of 31196 votes.
• Bal Govind Bind was contesting from Chainpur on VIP Party ticket of Grand Alliance and Brij Kishore Bind was contesting from RJD. JDU’s Jama Khan won the election on this seat. He won this election by a margin of 6877 votes.
• Congress candidate Santosh Kumar Mishra and CPI’s Mahendra Prasad Gupta were contesting from Karhagar seat. Vashishtha Singh won this election. He won this election by a margin of 35676 votes.

Congress won only 6 out of 61 seats

The Congress party, which is part of the opposition grand alliance, had fielded its candidates on 61 out of 243 assembly seats in Bihar. However, when the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the election results after counting of votes on Friday (November 14, 2025), the Congress party, which was contesting on 61 seats, was reduced to only 6 seats.

Congress party won only 6 seats in Bihar including Valmikinagar, Chanpatia, Forbesganj, Araria, Kishanganj and Manihari assembly. At the same time, the victory margin of Congress in Forbesganj was only 221 votes, whereas in Chanpatia this margin was only 602 votes. In such a situation, the difference between the victory and defeat of Congress on these two seats was very less.
