In February 2023, he was made the Governor of Jharkhand, where he served till July 2024. After this, on 31 July 2024, he was sworn in as the Governor of Maharashtra. While working as the Governor, he carried forward many programs related to education, agriculture and rural development.

Vice Presidential election process

According to the Election Commission, the Vice Presidential election will be held on 9 September 2025. The last date for filing nominations is 21 August. The investigation of the residents will be on August 22. Candidates can withdraw the name by 25 August. This will be followed by voting and counting on 9 September. In such a situation, if everything goes on according to the plan, then the country will get the new Vice President CP Radhakrishnan.
