West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, while addressing a public meeting in Kolkata, raised her voice against linguistic intolerance in sharp words on Monday (July 21, 2025). He questioned whether it is a crime to speak in Bengali language? Why is it stopped? Why is it interrupted? This statement of CM Mamta Banerjee has come at a time when the discussion about languages across the country is intensifying.

CM Mamta Banerjee said in her speech that if there is an attempt to suppress the Bengali language in Bengal like Bihar, then the Trinamool Congress will strongly oppose it. He warned and said, “We will siege, we will not let the votes be cut.” He also mentioned the cultural heritage of Bengal.

Mamta Banerjee said this big thing

Mamta Banerjee, referring to the cultural heritage of Bengal, said, “The land of Bengal gave birth to Rabindranath Tagore. It is from here that national anthem like ‘Jana Gana Mana’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ came out.” She also said that she respects Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi and all Indian languages, but it is not acceptable whether to be hated by Bengali language or prevented it from speaking.

Reminding the role of Bengal in the freedom struggle, the Chief Minister of West Bengal said, “Bengali participated in the freedom struggle. Our language is our identity and no attempt to suppress it will be tolerated.”

Emotions over Marathi language in Maharashtra boil

Let us know that controversy over language in the country is constantly deepening. In Maharashtra, emotions about Marathi language are on boil. People say that the attempt to impose Hindi or other languages is against the soul of the Constitution.

Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale reached Jaipur on Wednesday (July 16). During this, while addressing the media, he spoke openly on many important issues. He surrounded the Thackeray family over the incidents of assault over the Marathi-Hindi language dispute. He said that incidents of atrocities and assault on Hindi speaking people in Maharashtra are very unfortunate.

Union Minister Athawale strongly condemned the incidents of assault on the language, saying, “If needed, the Republican Party of India workers will give a befitting reply to such people. Our party is standing with the Hindi speaking community and will always fight the fight for their rights.”

Recently, MNS workers had assaulted the Gujarati shopkeeper of Jodhpur Sweets in Meera-Bhayandra in Thane for not talking in Marathi. Along with this, there were many more incidents of assault on the language.

Athawale also expressed concern over issues like unemployment

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale also expressed his concern on burning issues like unemployment. He said, “The Republican Party is fighting the rights and entitlements of the people. We will raise subjects like unemployment before the Central Government and demand concrete action in this direction.” He expressed confidence that the party will continue to work continuously according to its principles towards social justice.

What did you say about the expansion of the party in Rajasthan?

Athawale also expressed confidence in the expansion of the party in Rajasthan. He said, “The party’s base is growing rapidly under the leadership of state president Radha Mohan Saini. Our workers are going among the people about the ideology and programs of the party in every corner of the state.

Let us know that on July 5 in Maharashtra, the Thackeray brothers organized ‘Victory Day’ on the issue of Marathi language and after about 20 years, they were seen on a political stage. He said, “Only Maharashtra and Marathi are agenda for us. We are calm, this does not mean that we are afraid of someone. No one can separate Mumbai from Maharashtra. Hindi is a good language, but it cannot be imposed. At the same time, Uddhav Thackeray also surrounded the government on this issue.

Baba Ramdev has given a statement saying that all the languages spoken in the country are a symbol of pride, we should be proud of all languages and should be respected.

Let us know that Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev has given a restrained and balanced statement on the movable controversy over Marathi language in both Maharashtra. He has said that all the languages spoken in the country are a symbol of pride and they should be respected equally. He said that dividing in the name of language, caste, gender or community weakens national Hindu unity, so every Indian should unite and strengthen the integrity of the country.

Businessman Gopal Khemka murdered Baba Ramdev

Along with this, Baba Ramdev also expressed concern over the murder of big businessman Gopal Khemka in Patna, Bihar. He said that the freedom of all, safety of all and justice to all this is the biggest responsibility of governance. He said that every person has the right to move and stay safe anywhere independently and for this all governments should create an environment that gives the assurance of security to every citizen.

Shiva devotees stay away from drugs in Kanwar Yatra

Talking on the Kavad Yatra, Baba Ramdev appealed to the Muslim community that if he is serving Shiva devotees, there is no need to hide his identity. Along with this, he also urged Shiva devotees not to do any kind of violence or assault during the journey and behave with full devotion and restraint. He specifically said that in this journey of devotion, one should stay away from drugs, only then it will be called true faith.

Sanjay raut on mk stalin: In some states of the country, the dispute on the basis of language has once again started gaining momentum. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has recently made a statement on this compared to Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Reacting to Stalin’s statement, according to PTI, he said that the states of South India have been struggling on this issue for many years, but their fight is against being imposed Hindi, while the purpose of the fight in Maharashtra is different.

I speak Hindi, read and think- Sanjay Raut

Raut said, “We speak Hindi, I speak, read and think. There is no restriction about Hindi. Our role is that there should be no strictness about Hindi in primary schools. We will not let it happen and our fight is limited here.”

He further said that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin has talked about taking inspiration from our rally in Maharashtra, but the situation is different here. He clearly said that theater of Hindi films go on in Maharashtra, Hindi songs are played and Hindi newspapers are also printed. That is, there is no opposition in Maharashtra about Hindi.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader also said that the battle of Maharashtra government is against the decision to implement Hindi as a third language from class 1 to third language. He said that this is injustice to our mother tongue Marathi. He clarified, “We will not let Marathi be suppressed, but this does not mean that we are against Hindi.”

Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis hit back

When reporters mentioned the statement of CM Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, in which he told the Thackeray brothers to come together only with political meanings, to which Sanjay Raut said, “Well, it is fine, not, come for politics. Are?”

Referring to the parties that came together in the Mahayuti government, he questioned what purpose they have come together. He made it clear that if he feels that the Thackeray brothers have come together for politics, then this politics is for Marathi interest.

Maharashtra latest news: The ongoing language controversy over Marathi vs Hindi in Maharashtra is now getting caught political tip. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have come face to face on this issue.

MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande retaliated on the recent statement of BJP minister Nitesh Rane and said that “Nitesh Rane should understand that we are Hindus, not Hindi.”

Questions raised on India-Pakistan

Deshpande said, “Who had done India-Pakistan matches in Ahmedabad? What would we say? When we opposed the artists of Pakistan, who went against it? Wrong and false assumptions are being made. Poor or rich doesn’t matter us, just Marathi is our issue.”

He said that we have no information about this banner poster, this is not the line of our party. We are just going to celebrate the victory of Marathi Manus. “He also told that Uddhav Thackeray faction and MNS will meet in the evening to prepare for tomorrow’s rally. The event was to be held in Shivaji Park, but due to rain it has to be done in Dome.

MNS leader Deshpande attacked the BJP and said that “The politics of religion has become their identity. When the Marathi people are beaten, then why are the BJP leaders remain silent? If someone goes against Marathi, he will kill under the ear.”

This was the statement of Minister Nitesh Rane

Earlier, BJP leader and minister Nitesh Rane had given a controversial statement saying, “Those who raise their hands on poor Hindus should also show courage to beat the jihadis by going to Nal Bazaar and Mohammad Ali Road. Do people like Javed Akhtar, Aamir Khan speak Marathi?
