Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has targeted the opposition at the conclusion of the monsoon session. He said that the opposition parties have adopted the strategy of ‘attack and run away’. He said that the government passed a total of 16 Bills during the session, which included many important decisions related to the interest of farmers and the security of the state. Fadnavis also reiterated that the Mahayuti government is committed to waiving the agricultural loans of farmers.

Devendra Fadnavis counted the achievements of the government in the session. These include passing the Special Public Safety Bill to deal with leftist extremism, sanctioning a legal status to the Scheduled Castes/Tribe Commission, to constitute a special authority for Gadchiroli and a special authority for Nashik Kumbh. Apart from this, he said that crimes related to drugs will now be brought under MCOCA. He also mentioned the formation of a committee for a permanent solution to the agrarian crisis.

What did the Chief Minister say on the allegations of the opposition?

Fadnavis said that the opposition made baseless allegations against the government and deviated from serious issues in the assembly. He said that “he had no concrete issue, so the questions were also based on wrong information.” At the same time, he confirmed the name of Islampur to Ishwarpur and said that this is the restoration of the historic name.

On the clash between BJP and NCP (SP) MLAs within the assembly, Fadnavis expressed disappointment, saying, “Children also do not fight like this.” He said that this incident affects the image of good works of the government.

What did you say on the meeting between ‘Mahayuti’ and Uddhav Thackeray?

The Chief Minister made it clear that the meeting with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray should not be given a lot. He expressed displeasure over the “proposal” discussion in the media and said that his government is completely stable with strong colleagues like Shinde and Ajit Pawar.

Now the question arises that will the government forgive the debt of farmers? So the answer is- Yes, it has been clearly said by the Chief Minister that debt waiver is committed and is moving towards a long-term solution.

The small conversation between Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and BJP MLC Praveen Darekar caught everyone’s attention. The two leaders are politically considered opposed to each other.

The incident occurred when the monsoon session of the assembly was going on. Darekar submitted a report to Uddhav Thackeray which was associated with a Swapunvikas project. The matter started with the report, but soon the atmosphere became lighter and informal conversation between the two leaders started.

During this, Praveen Darekar described himself as “100 percent Shiv Sainik” of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray. Hearing this, Thackeray smiled and said a pinch and said that “Then tell those fake Shiv Sainiks to be honest. If you are really working in the interest of Marathi people, we can work together, but for that you will have to return to Shiv Sena.”

Significantly, Darekar was first in the Shiv Sena, then he joined MNS and is now in BJP. Thackeray’s statement was clearly taunted on the Shiv Sena faction, which is now with Deputy CM Eknath Shinde.

Uddhav Thackeray further said, “If your intentions are clear, I am always ready for the conversation.” To this, Darekar also laughed and replied, “Absolutely, let us all come together again.”

All the workers who saw this dialogue were also surprised and happy. Because in June 2022, there is a continuous political rhetoric between the BJP and the Thackeray faction since the Shiv Sena was torn apart. In such an environment, this short moment looked like a little coolness amidst political heat.

Ever since Maha Vikas Aghadi was formed in 2019, BJP and Shiv Sena (UBT) had become strict opponents of each other. But the way in this conversation, the way the laughter and old relationships were seen, it shows that the doors in politics are never completely closed.
